South Australians prepare for the new year’s fireworks display in Adelaide

In Adelaide, tens of thousands of people are expected on the beach tonight to bring in the new year, with major events also taking place in and around the CBD

00:00It's not too busy here yet, but Glenelg Beach is expected to be heaving tonight, with about

00:12There will be fireworks displays at 9.30pm and midnight, and the beachfront is expected

00:18to be popular with people, with fireworks displays also at Brighton and Semaphore beaches.

00:24In the city, about 40,000 people are set to gather by the Adelaide foreshore for two fireworks

00:30shows there, an early family display followed by the main show at midnight.

00:35And a bumper crowd is also expected for the Strikers' traditional New Year's Eve Big

00:43Police say they will not tolerate any violence or antisocial behaviour as South Australians
