Brisbane Riverbanks packed as Queenslanders prepare to ring in 2025

Organisers will launch five tonnes of fireworks featuring 80,000 effects to light up Brisbane's night sky on New Year's Eve.

00:04We got a lot of snacks and we bought her some bubbles.

00:09And Brisbane's riverbanks filling up.

00:11Our kids are really excited to see the firework and they don't want to miss it.

00:18As the final preparations are made for Queensland's largest New Year's Eve celebration.

00:25Organisers have spent months planning.

00:28There's over five tonne of fireworks and equipment in the city of Brisbane displays alone.

00:32That's four barges, over 80,000 effects across the 7.45 and midnight display.

00:37But you had to be quick to secure the best spots.

00:42About 5.30.

00:45Yeah, I wasn't the only one though, but yeah, I was one of the first.

00:48On the Gold Coast, anticipation was also high.

00:52We're going to just see probably a tonne of people on the beach and we're really excited to watch those fireworks.

00:58We've actually searched on TikTok and actually we've seen beautiful fireworks, so it's just so amazing.

01:17With party goers there, also in for a fireworks treat.

01:26It's the night of nights for venues too.

01:29We're almost booked out, which is really fun, considering we're in Hamilton and you can't really see fireworks.

01:35The stage is set for a spectacular welcome to 2025.
