Hello there. Very good evening to you. Hope you have had a lovely weekend, although Sunday
00:06
is ending on an increasingly wet and windy note for some of us. Although high pressure
00:10
is keeping things generally drier further towards the south, we've now got this cold
00:13
front that is stalling its way across areas of Scotland and over the next 24, 36 hours,
00:19
the rainfall totals really will be building up widely. Half a month's worth of rain falling
00:24
across parts of the Highlands, even into northern areas of Argyll and Bute. Locally, we could
00:28
see up to 150 millimetres of rain. That is certainly enough to provide some travel issues
00:33
and disruption. And as a result, this yellow rain warning has now come into force across
00:38
this part of Scotland. It runs all the way through until midday on Tuesday. We do have
00:43
the additional impact of snowmelt as well, which will add further water into our river
00:48
system. So do take care here. Some quite squally winds around northern areas of Scotland as
00:52
well overnight. Generally for Northern Ireland, England and Wales, it is drier, if still rather
00:57
cloudy. The odd spot of drizzle in there at times as well. Quite mild for most of us
01:02
though. Temperatures overnight holding up around 11 or 10 degrees Celsius. Just something
01:06
a little bit cooler there across the far north of Scotland, 5 degrees Celsius to kick off
01:11
Monday morning at Lerwick. The rain band will be in place across particularly western areas
01:16
of Scotland throughout much of Monday. A very wet, damp and miserable day to come here unfortunately.
01:22
We will though, across Northern Ireland, England and Wales, see some slightly brighter, sunnier
01:26
spells developing. Hopefully that cloud breaking up to provide a bit of brightness in there
01:30
for many of us. The winds though are still going to be quite brisk for many of us. So
01:35
if you are stepping outside, whilst it's going to be mild, temperatures on the thermometer
01:39
around 11 to 10 degrees Celsius, it's probably not necessarily going to feel quite that way
01:44
if you are exposed to the strongest of those gusts. Into Monday evening as well, we do
01:48
hold on to a very similar picture before eventually that cold front will slip its way off. We
01:54
do then have another area of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic for Tuesday to
01:58
provide further areas of rainfall. The most persistent of these looking to move across
02:02
Northern Ireland and then into Scotland throughout the day. A few showers are possible for England
02:07
and Wales, but generally there's the chance of some drier, some slightly brighter interludes
02:11
in there as well. Strong, gusty winds developing with gales around western coastal areas, but
02:16
they're coming in from a southerly direction, which means once again, it is going to be
02:20
widely mild for the time of year, 10, 11 degrees Celsius, once again, as the top temperatures
02:26
for many of us. But this mild theme is not going to last right throughout the rest of
02:31
the week. A change in wind direction later on means that from Thursday onwards, our temperatures
02:36
are looking to noticeably drop down quite a bit. So something cooler and crisper arriving
02:41
for many of us. We'll have plenty more updates on that on the YouTube channel, so do make
02:45
sure you're subscribed for those and we'll see you again here later on. Bye bye.
