00:00And in Syria, Israeli military forces are taking advantage of the takeover of the government

00:06by terrorist groups that are more advancing into Syrian territory in violation of the

00:11national sovereignty.

00:13To give us more insight of the current situation, we welcome Barton Al-Sharif, who is a member

00:21of the Association Against Zionism and Racism in Jordan.

00:26Hello Barton, what can you tell us about the Israeli offensive on Syrian crowns?

00:31What do these advancements mean for the current situation?

00:37Good evening.

00:40To understand the situation in Syria, first we have to understand that Syria is under

00:46war and sanctions since 13 years.

00:49During these 13 years, Syria suffered from economic siege and sanctions from the United

00:56States in a massive way, and they suffered from a large, massive inflation, they lost

01:08the currency rate, exchange rate, and the economic situation was very bad for 13 years,

01:17and they've been under crush from the United States and the opposition supported by the

01:24CIA for all these years, with mostly all the neighboring countries fighting Syria economically

01:33and militarily by supporting the fighters against the government.

01:40So in these 13 years, it's just like what they did with Iraq.

01:45Exactly after 13 years of sanctions and siege, they invaded Iraq.

01:50Now they are doing the same thing, but they are using these terrorist groups that they

01:55call opposition to take Syria down, and I'm not talking about the regime, I'm talking

02:02about the state, the country of Syria is collapsing now, people after all these years of sanctions

02:09and suffering, people were starving, the United States with conspiracy with the Kurds in the

02:17east part, taking over 90% of the oil and gas fields, which makes Syria unable to provide

02:26even electricity and gasoline and cooking gas to the people, and this puts lots of pressure

02:33on the Syrian government and the Syrian people in all over Syria.

02:37So we have to understand that what happened after long suffering, 13 years of standing

02:46for the Syrian people and the government, and at the end we saw all this tragedy happening

02:51in our bare eyes, because what happened in Syria exactly is a military coup, a military

03:04coup happening from inside the regime of Syria. This movement, of course, of the leaders of the

03:14military of the Syrian army happened with the conspiracy with different countries,

03:21United States, the latest entity, Turkey, and maybe other countries play a big role in

03:29the introduction in Syria, in introduction in the military association in Syria, to work on this

03:38movement to surrender the country and abandon Syria for the terrorist groups, and they are very

03:46violent groups, extremists, jihadists, committed lots of crimes in Syria during all these years,

03:57massive massacres, ethnic cleansing against specific ethnic groups and religious groups in

04:04Syria. We faced a long civil war. I can compare between the sanctions on Syria and what happened

04:16in Venezuela about losing the value of the currency of the country, not being able to

04:27export and import products. They have this situation of losing the ability to provide

04:39the people with basic needs, especially after losing the oil and gas fields in the east part of

04:45Syria. And I want to ask you about the influence of Western powers in the region. How does the role

04:54of the US government and its allies on the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East?

05:03Syria has lots of allies and other camp of the United States. Also, they have their own allies.

05:11The United States, since 2011, announcing that they are supporting the militias against the

05:19Syrian country, and the Zionist entity also announced that they were supporting the Syrian

05:28militias with the medical support. They received injured people from the terrorist groups in their

05:38hospitals. They've been visited by Benjamin Netanyahu himself in the north of Palestine

05:45to make sure that they are taking a good service of medical service to go back to Syria and fight

05:53the army. All this support from the United States and the Zionist entity and Turkey from the north

06:00are very clear and announced. They are proud of supporting these terrorist groups

06:07and announcing it. So, Syria is part of the axis of resistance. We can't say that Syria is alone.

06:16Syria is part of this alliance, including Iran, Iraq, the resistance in Iraq, the resistance in

06:23Lebanon, Palestine, and recently Yemen. So, what the United States and the Zionist entity

06:31faced since the 7th of October 2023 is a unity of fronts against the Zionist entity,

06:39rockets and drones coming from the resistance in Lebanon, in Syria, from Iraq, from Iran,

06:48and from Yemen, plus the front in Palestine, in West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.

06:53So, what the Zionist entity worked on is to dismantling the unification of the fronts.

07:06This unification put the Zionist entity in a bad situation, taking rockets and drones from

07:15east and west and north and south. So, they worked on opening a war, an open war on Lebanon,

07:23massive war on Lebanon, destroying part of the Hezbollah military bases and abilities.

07:31Plus, the big hit is killing the leaders of the resistance in Lebanon. The assassination of

07:41Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah played a big role in stopping the front in Lebanon. After two months

07:52of open war on Lebanon and destroying and bombing airstrikes, after less than 24 hours of stopping

08:01the front in Lebanon, they initiated the movement against Syria, against Aleppo at the beginning,

08:09and all the way to Damascus. So, this attached us to the unification of the fronts and the

08:18working on dismantling this unification, dealing with each front aside. Unfortunately, they

08:27succeeded in Syria and Lebanon under the huge military pressure from the air force of the

08:37Zionist entity, which is the biggest air force supported by the United States with

08:41the latest technology. Thank you very much, Bandar. But suddenly we had,
