00:05Bangkok is known for its extensive bus network.

00:08Recently, the transport ministry revamped the numbering system to make it easier for

00:13passengers to understand.

00:15And here's how it works.

00:16The bus numbers are divided into 4 regions based on where the route starts within Bangkok.

00:22The first digit indicates the starting area.

00:25So 1 side in the north, 2 side in the west, 3 side in the east, and 4 side in the south.

00:30The first digit is followed by 2 more digits to complete the route number.

00:34For example, bus number 4-03 starts from Wat Phuthabucha in the Thonburi area.

00:41Despite the changes, some people still find the system unclear and confusing.
