Happy Friday to all of us. I am Benison Estareja.
00:05
The effects of the two weather systems in our country are still continuing.
00:08
The first one is the shear line and the northeast monsoon.
00:11
The northeast monsoon is affecting the northern part of Northern Luzon
00:16
while the shear line or the line where the wind is coming from the northern portion of our country
00:22
and also here in Maysilangan.
00:24
So, except for the cold northeast monsoon and the hot Easter lease,
00:28
it is still causing rain in some parts of Northern Luzon.
00:32
Based on our latest satellite animation,
00:34
we are not expecting a storm that will enter our Philippine area of responsibility within the next five days
00:40
but we are still taking the chance that there is a whole low-pressure area in Maysilangan of Mindanao
00:45
along the intertropical convergence zone here in Maysilangan of Mindanao.
00:52
Because of the effect of the northeast monsoon,
00:54
it is still expected that the weather will be gloomy and there will be a weak rain here in Maybatanes
00:59
while the shear line is affecting Cagayan, Isabela, and here in a large part of Cordillera Administrative Region.
01:05
So, it means that the rain and thunderstorms there will still be scattered
01:09
even though we should be careful of possible floods and landslides.
01:13
The remaining part of Northern Luzon, particularly in Ilocos Region,
01:17
is also expected to be affected by the northeast monsoon
01:19
even though our temperatures there are also a bit low
01:22
and there is only a bit of light rain.
01:24
While Central and Southern Luzon, including Metro Manila,
01:27
there is still a part of cloudy and sometimes cloudy skies.
01:31
Most of our rains are in Quezon, Aurora, and here in Bicol Region as early as this morning
01:37
and only a bit of rain for the rest of Central and Southern Luzon.
01:42
Our temperature in Metro Manila is from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
01:46
and in Baguio City, it is still cold from 17 to 22 degrees Celsius.
01:51
For our countrymen in Palawan and in a large part of Visayas,
01:55
there is still a part of cloudy and sometimes cloudy skies,
01:58
especially in the eastern and central portions of Visayas,
02:01
and it will still be accompanied by a bit of rain.
02:04
Usually, it will only last for 1 to 2 hours
02:07
because of the localized thunderstorms, it usually arrives in the afternoon.
02:11
Our temperature in a large part of Visayas is from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
02:16
and the maximum temperature in the Palawan province is also up to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:21
For our countrymen in Mindanao, there are still fair weather conditions in many areas.
02:25
There are also areas where the weather is a bit gloomy in the early morning,
02:29
but if there is rain, it will not continue.
02:32
If it arrives in the afternoon until night, there will be more places in Mindanao,
02:36
especially in the central part, there will be isolated rain showers or thunderstorms
02:41
that usually do not last long.
02:43
For our countrymen here in Zamboanga City and Davao City,
02:47
our temperature in the afternoon can rise up to 34 degrees Celsius.
02:57
For our ocean, we still do not have a high-level gale warning,
03:00
but because of the north-east monsoon,
03:03
we still have a bit of wavy ocean in the villages in Northern Luzon
03:07
up to 3.4 meters above sea level.
03:13
It is still dangerous for small sea vessels.
03:15
While in Central Luzon and down to Mindanao,
03:18
our countrymen are generally allowed to go up to one meter
03:23
and if there are thunderstorms, it is possible to go up to two and a half meters.
03:28
And for our three-day weather forecast,
03:30
over this weekend, it will still be rainy in many areas of our country.
03:34
Our shoreline is still rising,
03:36
so we will still expect scattered rains and thunderstorms in Batanes and Baboyan Islands.
03:41
While a large part of Eastern Visayas and Mindanao,
03:45
we expect more chance of rain.
03:47
It is not continuous, but sometimes it is strong.
03:50
So make sure over this weekend,
03:52
include the rains in our plans
03:55
and bring an umbrella as a precaution for the rains.
03:59
For Monday, December 9,
04:01
there will still be scattered rains and thunderstorms.
04:05
This is due to the shoreline,
04:07
which is still full of cold winds and hot easterlies.
04:11
This shoreline will be affected the most by Monday.
04:14
And for the next few days,
04:16
next week, Northern Luzon,
04:19
the eastern part of Central Luzon and Southern Luzon,
04:22
along with Aurora, Quezon, and a large part of Bicol Region,
04:25
even Northern Samar,
04:27
will also have a high chance of rain early next week.
04:30
So make sure to bring an umbrella,
04:32
and be careful of floods and landslides.
04:35
Our sunrise is 6.08 in the morning,
04:38
and sunset later is 5.26 in the afternoon.
04:41
That is the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
04:44
I am again, Benison S. Tarayhana,
04:46
wishing you a good time,
04:48
hoping for a good solution.
