00:06Far-right and left-wing lawmakers joined forces to back a no-confidence motion against Prime
00:10Minister Michel Barnier, with a majority 331 votes in support of the motion.
00:16This is France's first loss-of-confidence vote since 1962, this after Barnier used special
00:21constitutional powers to adopt part of an unpopular budget without a final parliament
00:26vote.
00:27The aircraft budget had sought 60 billion euros, or about 63 billion dollars in savings,
00:31in a drive to shrink a gaping deficit.
00:34French President Emmanuel Macron ushered in the crisis by calling a snap election in June,
00:39which came out with a polarized parliament.
00:41France now risks ending the year without a stable government or a 2025 budget.
