00:16on the issue of malnutrition in the country.

00:18Bernard Pereira is in the center of the news.

00:24In a village in Apolonia, with the family of his three children,

00:29he admitted that his income is not enough

00:32as a driver and a bicycle driver for their food.

00:36His wife, who has diabetes, also needs to undergo maintenance medicine.

00:40That's why he was one of the 1,350 beneficiaries

00:44of the DSWD's No Hunger Food Stamp Program in Tondo, Manila.

00:51This program is a great help.

00:55We always have rice, we always have food.

00:59It's important for Apolonia to provide food to its six grandchildren,

01:03especially one of them, who is malnourished.

01:06Every day, beneficiaries receive Php6,000 of food credits

01:10for the month of November and December.

01:14This is what they will use to buy food from three groups of food

01:19that contain 50% carbohydrates, 30% protein, and 20% fiber.

01:25According to the DSWD, more than 259,000 low-income households

01:30benefit from the No Hunger Program.

01:33It will reach 300,000 target beneficiaries before 2024.

01:39The program has already expanded to 22 provinces

01:42in 10 regions of the country.

01:44The program aims to provide food to 1 million food-poor families

01:48by 2027.

01:50The Food Stamp Program is one of the priority programs

01:54of the Administration of President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr.

01:56to fight involuntary hunger

01:59experienced by low-income households.
