00:00It's Ben's top 10. The teams that I have ranked top 10 around the country with the waitlist.
00:05The teams just on the outside looking to get in. No particular order out of this grouping of five
00:11teams, but where I see it right now, Ole Miss, unlike how the CFP committee has them, outside
00:18of the top 10, but ever so slightly. The Cougars, their first loss of the season a week ago,
00:24they drop outside of the top 10 as well. Tennessee falls out after the loss to Georgia
00:29in a game the Vols really needed to have. SMU is here, the undefeated team in the ACC,
00:36and with one victory in their final two, they will play in that conference championship game.
00:41Colorado remains on the waitlist in that front-running position as the favorites cab
00:46within the Big 12. Yeah, so one team that I would have wanted on the waitlist, and again,
00:51it'll be inconsequential in a little bit, but I do think Army. One point I think I made you
00:56during a commercial break, but so Indiana unbeaten on the 106th schedule is going to be,
01:02I imagine, somewhere within your top five, and I know it was in the committee's top five.
01:06Army, 30 spots worse. It's definitely easier, but also unbeaten, also destroying everyone.
01:14Can't crack a waitlist. Can't crack a top 15. I think Indiana, again, it's very, but Indiana is
01:21getting the power conference bias that everyone is so scared they're going to lose when they lose
01:27to Ohio State. Oh, the SEC, the SEC. Like, man, Indiana's getting a lot of favors done for them.
01:32He stole my thunder with Army because obviously I'm assuming Boise State's in the top 10, so
01:37if they do get the victory tonight, what happens? I want to bring up Tennessee because Tennessee
01:42plays Vanderbilt, right, in terms of last regular season game, and then knowing where they are
01:48right now, they really, in order to just get in, they need others to drop games. They don't
01:54control their own destiny, so how confident are you in them right there? I mean, we know they
02:01have a great defense. We know they beat Alabama, but knowing the game that they lost last week,
02:06they're like just stuck right there waiting for things to happen. It is a quality win against
02:10the Crimson Tide, there is no doubt, but Tennessee having those multiple losses now
02:16in conference play does not control its own destiny for the SEC championship,
02:20very likely will not play in that conference title game, at least he got reflected in this
02:24number 11 ranking in the CFP top 25. Tennessee fell back by four spots just because they're in
02:30the top 12, they would actually be on the outside looking in at the college football
02:34playoff projected. Yeah, the last thing I would say is, you know, for me personally,
02:37I did come around a little bit on Ole Miss. I actually think they are worthy of getting inside
02:42that top 10. The win over Georgia, ultimately with what the Bulldogs did, the follow-up game
02:46against Tennessee, it looks even better. The South Carolina win goes under the radar, held
02:51that team to three points. Look, the Kentucky loss is terrible. It's terrible, a lot of people
02:56have forgotten about it, you certainly have not. It's a marginal difference, but still for me,
03:03nobody thinks Boise's better than Ole Miss. Ultimately, Ole Miss has much better victories
03:08than that, and Boise lost the Washington State, you know, win that they were kind of holding as,
03:12hey, we've done a little bit of something here today. So for me, I think Boise's still getting
03:17too much respect because of Gente's star power. Now let me just pose a question. Let's just say
03:22SMU drops tonight in Virginia, they have two losses, and Colorado wins, right? But let's
03:28just say somehow, some way they're out of the title game due to, you know, mathematics. If
03:32it's SMU and Colorado, let's just say fighting for a 12th spot, who are you letting in?
03:36At large or? At large. They both have to run the table and lose in the conference title game.
03:43Assuming certain things happen where they're battling it out, which team are we giving the
03:48edge to? But that's what we're seeing here, not only in my rankings, but also in how the
03:52college football playoff selection committee deems it. We're talking one bid leads for both the ACC
03:57and the Big 12. Whether that's justified or not, you feel it's unfair or not, that's what we are
04:02seeing. So if either of these two teams do not win their conference crown, I don't think either
04:07of them are getting in to the college football playoff. Let's get to the top 10. We'll go in
04:11reverse order, working our way up from 10 through 6. I have Miami here at number 10, a 40 to 1
04:17price to win a national championship. I have been high on Boise all year long. The Broncos remain
04:23inside my top 10. Penn State is number 8 in my top 10. They're number 4 for the college football
04:28playoff selection committee. The resume is not great for the Nittany Lions, but only one loss to
04:34Ohio State. Georgia also higher in my top 10 than that of the committee. The Dogs are 10 from the
04:40committee, number 7 for me. Alabama with the head-to-head and where they stand with their
04:45multiple quality wins, number 6, Kev. So Penn State did for the first time in some time, they
04:51would crack my hypothetical top 10. I think that there's just been a lot. BYU falls far, Tennessee
04:57falls far. I think things worked out for them. I just, look, it's kind of this interesting thing,
05:02it's been going on for a few weeks now, where you are ranking Georgia comfortably, you know,
05:07more favorably than that of the committee. So I can't come kicking and screaming. I still don't,
05:12I still would have them significantly higher personally. I would have them in front of
05:16Alabama. I know Bama beat them. Great, cool. This is not just a head-to-head thing because
05:23there's a team here, right? Again, let's be kind to the big 10. No top 25 wins, lost by 15 in their
05:31own building to the one good team that they played in Georgia. Like, I just think the Bulldogs should
05:38be top 5. You're someone who's always said that wins matter, and I think sometimes it's been under
05:43the guidelines of wins matter, that's why losing games is going to hurt you. Wins matter, they have
05:49the best wins in college football, Georgia, and they're not being rewarded enough for it. No,
05:53they're playing well, they're starting to peak. If we see that type of Georgia the rest of the
05:58way against Georgia Tech, and if somehow, some way they get into the SEC championship game,
06:03they're going to be there. I guess for me, the question is, can Miami do anything to get,
06:08maybe from 10, obviously win an ACC championship, but can they get to top 5, in your opinion,
06:14based off of where they are right now? No, I don't believe so. One of the reasons I have Miami
06:19at 10, is when you look at the hurricane schedule now, they only have two wins against teams that
06:25are FBS programs with a winning record above 500. That is actually fewer than both Penn State and
06:31Boise State. The Broncos have four wins against FBS teams above 500. Penn State currently with
06:37only three. The Nittany Lions technically have a ranked win against the CFP Top 25 team.
06:43Illinois is boosting a couple of resumes, but so too is Missouri out of the SEC. It's why Alabama
06:50has three Top 25 wins against teams ranked inside that CFP poll. Let's now move on,
06:56work through my top five, much like the selection committee, really has not changed week over week.
07:01Indiana still at five, Notre Dame at four, Texas at three, Ohio State, and then Oregon,
07:07still the top team in the country. I do want to focus though, Lacey Guy, on Texas, because a lot
07:13of the conversation over the last week and a half has been focused on Indiana and the strength
07:18of resume. Well, how about Penn State in that same conference? What about Miami? How are we
07:23comparing a Boise State team that has now vaulted in front of BYU, despite just one loss for the
07:29Cougars as well? Texas is not exactly in the most prime position to withstand some of those arguments
07:37if they were to falter in two weeks in the Lone Star Showdown at College Station.
07:41I couldn't agree more. They played down to Vanderbilt, won that ball game by three,
07:45the big game. They lost to Georgia in their house by double digits, and they're
07:49laying 19 and a half down from 20 and a half against Kentucky. Seven and a half point favorites
07:54next week after Thanksgiving against A&M. They're going to have to win both of those games, in my
07:59opinion, with style points to solidify that. You don't want any doubt if they're not going to make
08:05the SEC championship game dominate, but they still have the brand recognition. And again,
08:10that win early on against Michigan will hold some weight, where Michigan did have the 23-game
08:15home-winning streak, in my opinion, with the committee. It helps in the argument against
08:19Indiana, right? I will just make this point because, look, for me, that would be my 1-2.
08:26I think Texas and Indiana against Georgia, it's close.
