Cuba Gooding Jr. understands what Jussie Smollett went through in his ongoing ordeal with the justice system after the Illinois State Supreme Court's ruling today ... pointing out how celebrities endure sensationalized treatment in the public eye.

00:09And I think you and Jussie have worked on something together.

00:17So I did one episode of Empire where I was her ex-love interest, but I never saw him

00:23on the set.

00:24And I think, you know, it's it's almost like it's time for accountability with what people

00:32say.

00:33You know, anybody.

00:34We went so far one way with the movement of believe everybody in their accusations.

00:39And now we're kind of experiencing repercussions for that.

00:43You know, and if this young man got in a situation that got him locked up and went to the court

00:50case, which is what he did, God, go with God.

00:54You know, I I know how the scenario is going to a court into a courtroom as a celebrity.

01:00It's like they want to sensationalize every moment of it.

01:04And now that he's been set free from that, I mean, that's that's his own story.

01:07And yet it's like you comment on that, how you feel about it.

01:11But I think this is just the climate we're in.

01:14I'm looking at this screen.

01:16And again, for me, I'm old school to see the Christmas tree, dude.

01:22He's pitching, he's pitching a Christmas movie.

01:50And you have this dog.

01:52We as a country need these movies now.

01:53And I keep saying this when I did the firing squad, that was a faith based uplifting movie.

02:02My next one, I did a way of the warrior.

02:04Angels have fallen about archangels fighting for the good of mankind.

02:10You know, my next one's quantum supremacy again, showing our men and women of the armed

02:16forces in space fighting to save humanity.

02:19We need these movies now.

02:21And this is why I've been so blessed to be in this this this stream of consciousness

02:25of films that that really touch and affect people.
