This is the latest update for Super Typhoon Pepito.
00:06
Earlier this afternoon, Pepito landed in Dipakulaw, Aurora.
00:13
It is currently in the vicinity of Tipunan, Quirino.
00:18
It is carrying a strong wind of 185 kmph and a torrent of up to 305 kmph.
00:26
It is moving in the direction of Hilagang, Kanluran in a speed of 25 kmph.
00:31
We can see in our satellite image that a large part of Luzon is affected by Super Typhoon Pepito.
00:39
That is why we still have areas under stormy weather conditions or even rains with gusty winds.
00:46
This is the radar image of the landfall of Pepito in May, Aurora.
00:56
And because of Super Typhoon Pepito, we have a high signal number 5 in the central portion of Aurora,
01:06
southern portion of Quirino and southern portion of Nueva Vizcaya.
01:11
Meanwhile, signal number 4 in the southern part of Aurora, southern part of Nueva Vizcaya,
01:20
southern portion of Ilocos Sur, La Union, eastern portion of Pangasinan and northern portion of Nueva Vizcaya.
01:32
Signal number 3 in the southern part of Isabela, southern part of Ilocos Sur,
01:39
mountain province, southern portion of Calinga, southern portion of Abra,
01:44
southern part of Ilocos Sur, southern part of Pangasinan, northern and eastern portion of Tarlac,
01:51
northern portion of Bulacan, northern portion of Quezon, also known as Polilio Island.
01:58
Meanwhile, signal number 2 in the southern part of Isabela, southwestern portion of mainland Cagayan,
02:06
southern portion of Apayau, southern portion of Abra, Ilocos Norte, Zambales, northern portion of Bataan,
02:15
metro Manila, Rizal, northeastern portion of Laguna and central portion of Quezon.
02:23
Signal number 1 in the southern part of mainland Cagayan, southern part of Apayau, southern part of Bataan,
02:31
southern part of Laguna, Batangas, southern part of Quezon, northern portion of Occidental Mindoro,
02:39
Lubang Islands, northern portion of Oriental Mindoro, northwestern portion of Romblon, Marinduque,
02:47
Camarines Norte and northern portion of Camarines Sur.
02:53
This is the latest track that we are monitoring, Super Typhoon Pepito.
02:59
So we are expecting that it will cross the northern portion of Central Luzon
03:05
and will come out of the landmass of mainland Luzon tonight or tomorrow morning.
03:10
So we can see that it is possible that this will become a typhoon category,
03:15
Super Typhoon Pepito coming out of the landmass of Luzon.
03:20
And it is also possible that Pepito will come out of our Philippine Area of Responsibility by tomorrow morning or noon.
03:29
We also released a weather advisory on Pepito,
03:33
where it is possible that there will be more than 200 mm of rain or intense to torrential rains in Aurora,
03:40
Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao and Pangasinan.
03:43
So what are we expecting when it is intense to torrential rains?
03:47
So widespread incidents of severe flooding and landslide are expected.
03:52
Heavy to intense rains, 100 to 200 mm of rain in Isabela, Calinga, Mountain Province,
03:58
Abra, La Union, Benguet, Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Bulacan, here in Rizal and also in Quezon.
04:07
If heavy to intense to torrential rains, numerous flooding events likely,
04:11
especially in urbanized, low-lying or near rivers.
04:15
Landslide likely in moderate to heavy susceptible areas or highly susceptible areas.
04:21
While moderate to heavy, 50 to 100 mm of rain, we expect in Ilocos Sur, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan, Metro Manila and Laguna.
04:33
So if it is moderate to heavy, 50 to 100 mm of rain, localized flooding is possible,
04:39
mainly in areas that are urbanized, low-lying or near rivers and landslide in highly susceptible areas.
04:49
We also have a storm surge warning.
04:52
We expect more than 3 meters in the northern and central portion of Aurora and Isabela.
05:02
And we expect 2.1 to 3 meters in the southern part of Aurora, in some parts of Cagayan, in Ilocos Norte,
05:11
in Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan and Zambales.
05:16
1 to 2 meters in NCR 1st, 3rd and 4th District, in Pangasinan, Pampanga, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Bulacan, Quezon, Marinduque,
05:28
in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes and Albay.
05:35
We also have a gale warning here in the eastern coast of Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora,
05:42
northern coast of Quezon, Apolillo Islands, northern coast of Camarines Norte, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur,
05:49
in La Union, Pangasinan and the northern coast of Zambales.
05:53
So if possible, don't go too far in those areas because it will be flooded up to the sea level.
06:00
And that's the latest from Super Typhoon Pepito, Veronica Torres, Nagulat.
