The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued Signal No. 4 in its 5 a.m. bulletin on Monday, Nov. 11, as Severe Tropical Storm “Nika” (international name: Toraji) intensified into a typhoon while hovering over the sea, east of Aurora.
Nika now has maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour (kph) near its center and gusts reaching 150 kph.
