We asked Bristolians their thoughts on the Excelsior store which opened on Friday (November 8).  The exciting new store is spread across two floors: the ground floor is the shop and the first floor is the new café.  The café serves cakes from Cakesmiths, a local small independent business.  Locals praised the spacious layout and the wide range of products, including comic, graphic novels and board games.

00:05think of the new store.

00:07I think it's great to see a store like this in Bristol. I think we definitely need it.

00:10I think there's a lot of creative things in there, a lot of fun things. Yeah, a bit more

00:15than just your average clothing store. So, yeah, really impressed.

00:19I really like it. I think it's really big and airy and open. It's quite nice.

00:24Yeah, we used to go to the old one quite a lot, but this one seems to have a lot more

00:28choice and a lot more variety of board games. I think it's a really good store. We like

00:32it a lot.

00:34I think it's really well sectioned into board games and then your comics, your Warhammer

00:39side and things like that. And, yeah, again, it feels... I like the old store, but it definitely

00:45felt quite compact. This doesn't feel like that anymore.

00:49It's really hard not to just buy everything.

00:52I was really surprised to see, actually. We were coming to Excelsior anyway, but coming

00:58around the corner and seeing this, I was thrilled, honestly.

01:00Yeah, nice surprise.

01:01Yeah. It's nice to have the bigger location. You can move around and touch all the games.

01:06And I like how it goes all the way around, so you can, like, oh, look at all the things

01:10that they've got around the corner.

01:14I think it's really good. Everything, there's so much more space. It doesn't feel as cramped

01:18and everything's in the same place, so you can just kind of wander around and see everything

01:22now.

01:22Yeah, the layout's really good as well, and it's easy to tell where things are.

01:26It's a lot more now as well.

01:28And it just looks a lot more inviting.

01:30Easy to find as well.

01:31Yeah, it feels a lot more spacious than the last place, and it feels, then, you get a

01:36bit more time to walk around and explore it as opposed to kind of being a lot more cramped.
