00:27President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. recognized the role of the so-called force, especially in the defense of the country,

00:34as well as their role in protecting the people, advancing in peace and defending the sovereignty of the Philippines.

00:46has been instrumental in shaping the security landscape that we continue to build on today.

00:53Your contributions not only ensured our safety, but have also reinforced the very foundation of our shared future.

01:02The President said that the heavy responsibility of the Philippine Marine Corps, especially him,

01:08has sunk into the training of the past.

01:10The Philippine Marine Corps is said to be a major asset in the government's vision of advancing the insurgency.

01:15Their role in the time of the accident is also the same.

01:18When disaster and calamity strike, you also stand ready to bring swift relief and critical aid to our people.

01:26In these crucial moments, the Marine Corps steps forward to help us recover,

01:32striving to reduce the devastating impact of natural disasters on our communities.

01:39We recognize that the challenges you face now are growing more and more difficult.

01:46To defend our islands, to secure our shores, protect our people across the archipelago, each one of these is a pivotal task.

01:55As a specialized force for defense, especially for the countrymen,

02:00President Marcos Jr. reiterated the promise of government support

02:05in strengthening the organization through the AFP Modernization Program.

02:10We are committed to building a stronger and more comprehensive defense posture

02:15by investing in modern infrastructure, upgrading facilities, facilities that will boost your operations.

02:23We will continue to prioritize modernization,

02:26ensuring that your defense capabilities align with our nation's strategic needs.

02:32The Chief Executive also prioritized the recognition of the eight individuals for their outstanding leadership in the PMC.

02:39The President also ensured safer roads for the Filipinos.

02:44He was followed by the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Road Safety, Gene Todd, in Malacanang.

02:51The two also discussed the strengthening of road safety in the country,

02:55anchored in the 2021-2030 Decade of Action for Road Safety Goals.

03:00The President said that the roads were built to benefit each Filipino.

03:05The country will also participate in the Global Dialogue at the Ministerial Conference in Morocco.

03:09According to the President, the visit of the UN officials is a big deal

03:13because of the safety concerns of the millions of Filipinos who use motorcycles.

03:18Where is the high percentage of accidents related to these?

03:22It is something that should be addressed, according to the President.

03:24The President agreed to Todd's proposal to build a task force that will cooperate with the UN to promote road safety.

03:31The President also asked for the help of the private sector in Todd's recommendation

03:35to further strengthen the production of durable helmets for riders.
