nine months jail.
00:12
Wan Ainsyatul Mimi Wan Uzaidi pleaded guilty before Magistrate Siti Nurul Suhaila Baharin
00:19
in Georgetown on Friday.

The 26-year-old admitted to making the false statements from her apartment in Ampang Jajar,
00:27
Butterworth at about 3.30pm on July 26.
00:32
Her actions were said to have caused fear among the public and triggered a police investigation.

The offence under Section 505 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to two years,
00:43
a fine or both upon conviction.

During mitigation, the accused's lawyer Nakia Zulkarnain from the National Legal Aid Foundation

appealed to the court to impose a minimum fine.
00:55
She said her client earned 1,600 ringgit a month as a security guard and has a mother
01:01
and two children to support.
01:03
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Attika Asharaf Ali, however, urged the court to take into

According to the facts of the case, Wan Ainsyatul claimed in the TikTok Live program that her

father was 20,000 ringgit in debt and gave loan sharks the names and addresses of his
01:24
family members.
01:25
She added that the Ah Long had forced her to work in a brothel since February.
01:30
Police tracked her down and found that the story was fabricated.
