And I started as an intern during college,
00:03
just like everybody else, I needed a job,
00:05
I needed some money, so I was an intern
00:06
and then became a full-time management trainee in 2000.
00:10
And so 95% of our management team
00:13
has actually come through the management training program.
00:15
And so promoting from within means
00:17
we can take more time with our employees,
00:19
we can take more time to develop them,
00:21
give them the resources that they need
00:23
to make sure they're developing their career with us
00:26
for the long haul.
00:27
We view our employees as an investment.
00:30
And then, as I talked about earlier,
00:32
we have our fleet management business,
00:34
which is our original business.
00:36
We have truck rental, we have commuting,
00:38
we have car sharing, we have business rental sales,
00:41
we have this huge sales organization.
00:43
So once you go through that management training track,
00:46
you can then hop over into these other business lines
00:49
that you already know the fundamentals of the business.
00:51
It's like getting your MBA on the job.
00:54
It is a huge competitive advantage for us
00:56
that we invest in our people.
00:58
And I also want to note that you took part
01:00
in said management training program.
01:01
Absolutely.
01:02
Man, I know how to wash a really good car.
01:05
But that is not what it is about.
01:06
It's about getting your MBA on the job.
01:08
It is really fun because you are growing
01:11
and developing your own business, your own team.
01:13
You're responsible for your customer service,
01:16
your P&L, and driving the business.
01:19
Because each location is its own business.
01:22
They're running multi-million dollar assets
01:24
at that business.
01:25
And so our people tend to be on the younger side
01:29
in those locations, but we're really trying
01:31
to develop them for the future.
01:32
And it's been very successful for us.
