Rain showers to persist due to ITCZ, easterlies

Most of the country may experience rain showers and thunderstorms due to the prevalence of two rain-bearing weather systems, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday, Oct. 6.

At the moment, there are two low-pressure areas that we are monitoring.

The first one is located inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

It was completed at 8 a.m.

And as of 3 p.m. today, it is located 100 kilometers west-northwest of Coron, Palawan.

This low-pressure area is embedded here in the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ

which is affected by Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

And because of the Intertropical Convergence Zone,

we expect heavy rainfall and heavy rains

especially in Metro Manila, Calabar Zone, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, and Visayas.

That's why our fellow countrymen who were affected by heavy rains in the past few days

should be careful of flooding or landslides.

For the time being, in most parts of our country,

we are partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of localized thunderstorms.

Our Regional Services Division will issue thunderstorm advisory,
