00:07We look back on the Sunday slate in the weekend that was in the National Football League the injury analysis and insight with the pro

00:14Football doc. Dr. David Chow. Dr. Chow as always we appreciate the time. Thanks for being here on this Monday on the early line

00:23Thanks for having me and of course

00:25Unfortunately lots of injuries to discuss

00:28It is the good thing of having you here, but it's the unfortunate topics of conversation

00:33Injuries around the NFL and dr. Chow yesterday after a very promising start to this season

00:39Could it be already done for Casey's wide receiver Rashid Rice attempting to make a tackle after Patrick Mahomes threw an interception

00:47It was actually Mahomes also attempting to make a tackle right into the knee on a collision with Rashid Rice

00:55Andy Reid saying after the game quote, it's not good. The fear is a season and during ending knee injury

01:02So dr. Chow on this Monday

01:04Do you think the fear will be confirmed and Rashid Rice is set to miss the rest of this season for Casey?

01:12Unfortunately, yes in orthopedics we have a saying that things come in threes and for Kansas City Marquise Brown

01:21Likely season with the SC joint

01:24Isaiah Pacheco most of the season with the ankle and now Rashid Rice

01:29Look in my time in the NFL

01:31I never walked off the field or before an MRI didn't know the bad news based on exam from an ACL

01:40Tear a positive lockman. It's a very simple exam

01:44We're used to team saying we don't know MRI MRI MRI

01:48Here Andy Reid's being a little more honest. He's leaving hope alive

01:52But I think they already know which is really really too bad

01:57Doc when we take a look at Rashid Rice and that injury you've probably examined thousands of athletes, you know in front of your eyes

02:03Here, but when you see it just on the TV

02:05What's the mechanism that you look for that lets you know that this could be an ACL injury as opposed to something else?

02:12Well, this is different than typical

02:1475 or 80 percent of ACL tears in the NFL are non-contact

02:19This one is contact his foot is planted. He gets hit high on the thigh

02:23The initial hope was hyper extension bone bruise

02:28Maybe a poster lateral corner ligament sprain without getting the ACL

02:33But if the force keeps going hard enough in this case with this foot planted in the ground there that yes

02:39it can then become an ACL and that seems to be the case an

02:45Unfortunate reality for Kansas City and a couple of offensive pieces that will not be there for most if not all of this

02:532024 campaign let's go to Indianapolis Doc the Colts getting their first win of the year handing the Steelers their first loss

03:00And it was a great start in Indy yesterday for the young quarterback Anthony Richardson

03:05But then he was sidelined for the remainder of the game the veteran Joe Flacco

03:08Takes over at the end of the opening quarter Anthony Richardson was bounced from the game twice in about a four

03:14Play span what injury do you think plagues a are moving forward? What's his prognosis the next few weeks for Indianapolis?

03:24Well, he takes a lot of hits running the ball. He took a hit on his right hip and to us

03:28It was a right hip pointer

03:31Form from the war room

03:33He came back into the game and then had no power on that leg and fell down and then left and stayed

03:40People think he's fine because he stood on the sideline, but here's the thing with hip pointers. It swells overnight

03:46We got to see how he does here the next day and it is

03:52Potentially possible for him to miss a game or two

03:54It's not an IR injury

03:56But given the mobility that he has it easily could cost him a game or two

04:02It's not long term

04:03But it can be one of the more painful things the only way to play through is somehow to get a game day

04:10Injection etc. And that's no fun either. So expecting potentially some of this time then of course, you know

04:18Jonathan Taylor also in that game a right high ankle injury and both

04:24Taylor and

04:25Anthony Richardson's hip pointer have now been confirmed by media and it's said to be minor Jonathan Taylor. No big deal

04:32I'm okay, but there's no such thing as no big deal high ankle sprain for a running back

04:37Remember Joe Mixon recently returned to the Houston Texans game and now has missed the next two games

04:45For his quote mild high ankle

04:47So not saying it's gonna be injured reserve for Jonathan Taylor

04:51but high ankle still high ankle and it is on the same right ankle that he had previous problems with and

04:58Started a season on injured reserve, etc

05:02Injuries do tend to pile up in the NFL

05:04We do have two Monday Night Football games tonight heading over to six score calm looking at the field view doc

05:08How about this game tonight the Tennessee Titans a lot of green and health on offense?

05:12But that's not the same with the Miami Dolphins a lot of injuries here to the Miami Dolphins

05:17How do we look at this football game play between the Dolphins and the Titans?

06:26What's the field view looking like for both of these teams entering this Monday night in the Motor City?

06:31Well a lot of linebacker issues for the Seahawks on defense and a key injury on

06:37Offense for the Detroit Lions with Frank Ragnar their center a longtime center

06:42You know quarterback of the offensive line with a peck injury there for Detroit

06:48And you know, there's the view with the linebacker issues on and the center

06:54So that's where a lot of the attention is going to be on that part of the field view
