China is accusing Taiwan's cyber warfare unit of being behind a hacker group that carried out cyberattacks against China. Taiwan says that's untrue, and accused China of cognitive warfare.

00:23Well the unit that's being accused, that's the information communications and electronic force command under Taiwan's Ministry of Defense

00:31They've said in the past few hours that their role is to protect

00:35Cyber security in Taiwan and they say what China is alleging is simply not true

00:41Now what is China saying?

00:43Well, they're saying that since the beginning of the year a hacker group known as anonymous 64

00:49Has sought to put out content in China on TV stations on websites on outdoor screens

00:56that denigrates China's political system and its policies and they've also

01:03Posted photos and the names of two men and one woman who they say are active-duty

01:10Military personnel involved in this now despite what China says it's unclear whether or not this is true

01:18Despite what China says it's unclear who is behind anonymous 64 or where it's based on

01:25X the social media platform

01:27There is an account under its name that says it's done several posts saying that it successfully

01:33Carried out a series of cyber attacks in a China on for example

01:39University and media websites now those cyber attacks supposedly mentioned Tibet

01:46Some of them likened Chinese President Xi Jinping to an emperor these are sensitive topics in China and

01:54These allegations come amid tense relations between China and Taiwan

02:00Just recently China and put out some guidelines that said that

02:07convicted diehard Taiwan separatists could face death and

02:13Analysts here in Taiwan see these latest allegations as more Chinese pressure on

02:18Taiwan and let's not forget that Taiwan itself is one of the biggest targets of cyber attacks
