Meet Bertha, the 32 foot tall dinosaur that has made Much Hoole it's home

00:06South Ribble recently. Here are the perfectly normal couple, Alan and Monica Taylor, but

00:13behind them, in their much-ruled garden, is a not-so-normal house guest. Bertha, as she

00:18was named by the local children, is a 32-foot tall dinosaur, handmade by the couple. She

00:24weighs two tonnes and a half and is made of marine plywood, sand and cement, with scaffolding

00:30poles to keep her in place. Meanwhile, her fearsome-looking teeth are made from broom

00:35handles. 75-year-old Alan told me he started building Bertha in lockdown for his five grandchildren,

00:41who are all huge dinosaur fans. With help from his wife Monica, 73, and encouragement

00:48from the reverend of their church, Anne Templeman, he finally put the finishing touches on Bertha

00:52just last week. Unveiled at a church event last Sunday, Bertha can now be seen by all

00:59those who happen to stroll past their home of 51 years, which has now become Lancashire's

01:03very own Jurassic World.
