These were the scenes at Great Eccleston Show 2025, as farmers and families flocked to the annual event during a scorching hot weekend.

We spoke to the President and Secretary of Great Eccleston & District Agricultural Society to find out more.

00:00The Great Eccleston Show has been running for in excess of 170 years and long may it continue.
00:07It's a celebration of all farming and rural communities coming together,
00:13putting on a fantastic display for the general public to come and see what we do.
00:18There's a huge amount of cattle and livestock predominantly in the main ring for people to come and look at.
00:24There's also demonstrations, whether it be for cookery, horticulture, so there's a wide range of events for everybody.
00:33It's been fantastic this weekend. It's maybe been a little bit too warm but it's better than the wet stuff.
00:39We've had a good show of stock in the ring. I'm a stock woman at heart so that's good and a good show of horses.
00:46It's just the main ring full. I know I'm next at main ring so you like to see something happening.
00:51But you know, tractor pulling pulls a lot of people in, especially on the Sunday.
00:56Everybody comes for different reasons. There's obviously the retail section as well that people come for.
01:01There's the tractor pulling. Northwest tractor pullers come and they put an excellent show on.
01:05So a lot of people come for two days to come and have a look at that.
01:08But also it's just having a look at the different things that the community have done.
01:12Again, the trade stands, there's a lot of support for machinery and dealers that come and all everybody that's associated with agriculture.
01:22So it's a good day for everybody.
