Chris Olsen caught up with Billboard’s Tetris Kelly on the red carpet of the 2024 Emmy Awards.

00:00First of all, you're on tour right now with Meghan Trainor, on stage, in arenas, singing.

00:04How's it been?

00:05I mean, that doesn't feel like a real sentence that you just told me, but it has been really fun.

00:09Specifically because there's a bit that Ryan and I are doing every night,

00:14like a lip-sync battle to each other that we didn't plan in rehearsals,

00:17but he just played Umbrella one night, and I knew I had to come out and do it.

00:20And you jumped on him, Chris.

00:21Ooh, I did. I did.

00:25Were you fulfilling some fantasies, maybe a little internal fantasy?

00:28We planned it together, okay? That was a consensual jump.

00:31But I am having the most fun. I'm kind of getting addicted to it.

00:34I understand why Miss Taylor has been on tour for a year and a half.

00:37That is fun. It's fun.

00:39Tell me about TV. So what show would you want to be on, if you could guest star on any TV show?

00:43Can I go, can I please do the Gay Love Island?

00:46Okay. Put Chris on Gay Love Island?

00:49Listen, I know no one actually wants that, but I do.

00:52But I do, and I've just been, like, Love Island season six had me by the balls this summer,

00:57and I've met some of the girlies from it, and we had, like, the best night together,

01:01and so Love Island is just on the mind at all times.

01:04Nice. And you were just talking, of course, when you walked up about the carpet and the drama,

01:08and you have a lot of that stuff, okay? You went through a rough patch recently,

01:11but then you took a break, and you came back, and you look like you're killing it and happy.

01:15So what advice would you have for people out there that deal with haters online?

01:18It's gonna hurt. I hate the advice that, like, don't let them get to you.

01:23People being mean, it's gonna get to you, unless you're, like, a psychopath.

01:26I mean, well, maybe there are just people who have an easier time rising above,

01:29but when you're young and when you—and I'm 26, okay? So hold it before you call me old.

01:34But when you're, like, going through this phase of life, people saying mean shit to you is gonna hurt.

01:38So allow yourself to feel it, take a moment, and then come back and get yourself to the fucking Emmys.
