Nissan's biggest 3-row Armada SUV has been redesigned for 2025

00:00Nissan's biggest three-row SUV has been redesigned, and it's a big deal.

00:16This is the 2025 Nissan Armada.

00:22After the last generation of Armada went on sale for 2017, this new generation arrives

00:26for 2025.

00:28A lot has changed, but one thing remains the focus for Nissan's biggest three-row, and

00:31that is family functionality.

00:33We get a new dose of technology, safety, and upscale features as well.

00:38One of the biggest changes for the new Armada is what's under the hood.

00:41Gone is the previous generation's big naturally aspirated V8, and in its place is a new twin-turbocharged

00:463.5-liter V6, making 425 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.

00:52That is sent through a nine-speed automatic transmission to standard rear-wheel drive

00:56or available four-wheel drive.

00:59The Armada is a pretty large vehicle to begin with, but with this new design, there won't

01:02be any missing out on the road.

01:04The design has a newfound sophistication to it.

01:06I like this line, this crease running across the side that has a gentle curve to it.

01:10The air vents on either side are real and functional, and I especially like this D-pillar

01:15graphic that ends in an Armada badge on the side.

01:19Wheels go up to 22 inches on this new Platinum Reserve model.

01:24Behind the 22-inch wheel on this Armada Platinum Reserve is an air suspension system, which

01:28is found on most of the higher-end versions of the Armada lineup.

01:32That allows the vehicles to raise and lower its height depending on conditions and drive

01:36road, and hopefully will provide a nice, cushy ride.

01:41I'm here inside the 2025 Armada Platinum Reserve, which is the new range-topping trim for the

01:46Armada lineup.

01:47As you can then expect, it's equipped with all the bells and whistles that's offered

01:51on the Armada, and I have to say, it's pretty nice in here.

01:54We have this gorgeous quilted leather with two-tone stitching, the dual 14.3-inch digital

01:59displays, and wouldn't you know it, this is a nice surprise.

02:03There's some physical buttons here, not like the digital temperature control we're seeing

02:07on way too many vehicles these days.

02:09The Armada provides seating for seven or eight passengers, depending on whether the second

02:14row, three-across bench seat, or individual captain's chairs are equipped, but regardless,

02:18getting into the back row is really easy.

02:20You just lift this handle on the top of the second row seat, and boom, you have access

02:25to the three-across third row bench.

02:27Cargo space in the back of the Armada seems pretty good, and of course, you can fold the

02:31seats to expand that room.

02:34In the Platinum, you have a motorized function for the third row, so you just push a button,

02:38and the third row seats fold down super easy.

02:41Now, what we have here is probably the coolest version of the new 2025 Armada.

02:45This is the Armada Pro 4X.

02:47We've seen Pro 4X applied to Nissan's trucks before, but this is the first time this off-road

02:52treatment has been applied to the Armada.

02:54The 2025, the three-row family SUV segment is packed with compelling options, and the

02:59Armada faces some stiff competition, but I like what I'm seeing so far.

03:03This bold new design, along with the revamped interior with its upgraded tech and driver

03:08assist features seem compelling, and there's still a great amount of three-row functionality.
