00:00I will be honest with you all, this is a time of the year

00:03where I get excited about football.

00:06Even when I played, this was a time I was getting excited.

00:09Big man just now beat the hell out of the Jess guy.

00:12But ultimately, you get a chance to go out there

00:14and you get to test people

00:16and they have different skill levels, all right?

00:19That may be a rookie get up against a veteran.

00:22A veteran gets up against a rookie.

00:24You have some guys that are just hitting their peak.

00:27But this is where coaches really wanna understand

00:30that you understand what you're doing.

00:32You don't get swayed by someone else's stupid actions.

00:38Can you keep yourself under control?

00:40How hard will you be going?

00:43Because the whole thing about it is in practice,

00:46most times in training camp,

00:48there's a coach in the huddle who's talking to people

00:52and telling them what to do.

00:53When they get you on this situation sometimes,

00:56they put you out there

00:58and they don't wanna see what you retain.

01:00And a lot of times when a guy is playing slow,

01:03it's because he don't know what he's doing.

01:05And the Jets, their record wasn't great last year,

01:10but their level of talent that they have on that team

01:13is phenomenal.

01:15From receiver to cornerback,

01:17I know Quentin Williams and Quincy Williams.

01:19Quincy is the linebacker.

01:22They got CJ Mosley up there.

01:24They have some dudes that can play.

01:27When you start playing football,

01:28you're looking for some dogs, okay?

01:30And I'm talking about dog

01:31and every positive aspect of the word.

01:35This is nothing about negativity.

01:36It's all about positive.

01:38And this is a chance where you can take a huge step.

01:41A lot of these little rookie players on this team today,

01:44and they're wondering about,

01:45man, I may not be getting enough reps today.

01:49You can make that happen.

01:50You can go out there and do something

01:52to make these coaches start to say,

01:53you know what, let's find a way to get him on the field.

01:56Greg Lloyd was a pass covering dude for a linebacker.

02:02He could pass rush as well.

02:03When I had my chance against Greg Lloyd and I did something,

02:07I instantly realized that my stats,

02:10I mean, my reps went up.

02:12When Don Bro saw that happen,

02:14he realized, okay, this dude has been working on his stuff.

02:17And this is what other guys have to do too.
