Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, Nacionalista Party form political alliance
Transcript
00:00The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, which is the president's political party,
00:03has formed an alliance with the Nacionalista Party as part of their preparations for the
00:08upcoming elections and other common and mutually beneficial endeavors.
00:12For the chief executive, this alliance will ultimately benefit the Filipino people,
00:16who will reap the results of their combined efforts to provide better public service.
00:21Kenneth Paciente has the details.
00:25For the fourth time, a new alliance has been forged by the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas,
00:29chaired by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. The chief executive witnessed the alliance signing
00:34between PFP and the Nacionalista Party. According to the president, this alliance will serve as a
00:39path to further advance the government's goal for change. He also pointed out this is proof
00:43that even though political parties have different ideologies, it is still possible, he said,
00:48to form partnerships to strengthen a coalition force that benefits the people.
00:53We are continuing to answer the call for unity. And this is what I always explain to people. This
01:01is, of course, this is in preparation for the midterm elections. But nonetheless, it is something
01:09that we have been talking about during the presidential campaign. Ang ating sigaw ay ang
01:16unity. And that continuing call for unity remains. And that is why it is very gratifying to see that
01:26the significant, the big and influential and historical national parties of the Philippines
01:37have come to answer that call for unity. The chief executive also emphasized that
01:42party infighting should end. He said that time and resources are foolishly wasted on squabbles
01:48instead of attention focusing on work. We came into office and when we leave office that we leave
01:55the Philippines a better country and we leave the Filipinos in a better condition than we found them
02:02when we first came into office. That is the aspiration. That is the dream. And it can only
02:08be achieved through a unified effort by everyone. And there is nothing more that we can do but to
02:15continue to work for that dream. The president once ran for senator under the MP and he said
02:21there were no hard feelings when he decided to leave the party.
02:24Ako yung nangingilala naman ng utang na loob. Sinasabi ko kung hindi sa MP, hindi ako naging
02:29presidente. Kaya talaga malaki ang utang na loob ko. Sa tulong na ginawa ng MP, that makes it a
02:38very natural alliance. The PFP previously formed alliance with the Lakas Christian Muslim Democrats,
02:44Nationalist People's Coalition and National Unity Party.
This coalition of major political parties is
03:10a strong message to our people that political affiliation is subordinate to our common vision
03:17ang bayan, igit sa lahat. For now, the PFP does not have a senatorial slate,
03:21but they aim to identify their lineup before the filing of candidacy in October. While three will
03:26come from the Nationalist Party, including Camille Villar, Senator Amy Marcos and Senator Pia Cayetano.
03:33Kenneth Paciente from the National TV Network for a new and better Philippines.
