00:21President Ferdinand R. Marcus Jr. led the inauguration and turnover of the rice processing system and the distribution of farm machineries to farmers in the Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.
00:35This is part of the continuous enhancement of rice farming mechanization for higher production and increased farmer income.
00:42Farmers warmly welcome the President following the distribution of 16 rice combined harvesters, individual four-wheel tractors with complete implements and cultivators under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund or RSF.
00:57Rodolfo is one of the recipient of rice combined harvester. According to him, around 150 to 180 sacks of palay can be quickly harvested with the help of this machine.
01:08It's a great deal to help this unit, because we're going to be able to do it in the mountains.
01:17It's about 5 or 6 or 6, depending on the year. For example, if there's a rain, we can do it again so we can do it properly.
01:30Macarius Cooperative used to rent a harvester. According to him, the new farming machinery is a huge help,
01:36so they no longer have to deduct the rental costs from their earnings.
02:03The Philippine Center for Post-Harvest Development and Mechanization, or FILMEC, led the rice mechanization component,
02:10which aims to reduce the production costs by around 2-3 pesos per kilo, through the use of appropriate, efficient, and complete mechanized production technologies.
02:18The Marcus administration also aims to reduce an estimate of 3-5% post-production losses through post-harvest facilities.
02:27Aside from this, the program will help generate additional jobs, encourage wider adoption of mechanization technologies,
02:34support the use of locally fabricated machineries, increase rice yield, raise cropping intensity,
02:41ease the workload of farmers, and provide additional income through the use of new machineries and equipment.
02:46The rice processing system, too, is among the facilities being established under the said program with a total estimate cost of over 55 million pesos.
02:56It is a multi-stage rice mill with a capacity of 2-3 tons per hour.
03:01Si Presidente na mismo ang pumunta, no, at para makita, at nagpa-update sa progreso ng mga rice processing systems at dryer systems.
03:09At napaliwanag nga namin na 145 na inetayo natin this year.
03:14Out of that, mga 95 ay completed na the remaining will be completed in the next three months.
03:20So, malaking bagay yun sa next harvest season.
03:22Tourist circulating dryers capable of drying up to 12 tons per batch will also distribute it.
03:28The total value of the dryers is 8.66 million pesos.
03:32According to the Department of Agriculture, or DA, over 200 drying systems have already been produced nationwide,
