00:00Over 1,000 Bersatu members in Jerli have allegedly quit the party.

00:07This comes after 480 members from the party's Guam Musang division announced that they were joining UMNO.

00:14The number purportedly includes 8 Bersatu branch leaders and 18 Wanita branch heads in Jerli.

00:20A spokesman for the group, Rozi Mohamed, said they were disappointed with Bersatu's weak state,

00:26which he claimed had forced the party to bring in a past candidate for the Ngeri by election.

00:31The Bersatu candidate Rizwadi Ismail is a former Guam Musang past deputy youth chief.

00:37Rizwadi said he joined Bersatu at the request of past top leadership.

00:41The earlier exit of 480 members in Guam Musang had left 12 branches essentially immobilised.

00:48A spokesman for that group said they had lost confidence in the Bersatu leadership,

00:53which he said was weak and lacking in bright ideas.
