01:27Israel has a right to defend itself against the severe threats it faces.

01:32A sentiment shared by U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.

01:35Israel has a right to defend itself and I unequivocally support Israel's right to remain

01:42secure and to defend the security of Israel.

01:46What we know in particular is that it has a right to defend itself against a terrorist

01:51organization, which is exactly what Hezbollah is.

01:54But all of that being said, we still must work on a diplomatic solution to end these

01:58attacks and we will continue to do that work.

02:02Tuesday's strike on Beirut sparked a wave of criticism from Lebanese officials, including

02:07the country's prime minister, who described it as a quote blatant Israeli aggression against

02:12the city.

02:13Lebanon's foreign minister also denounced the strike and said his government is planning

02:17to file a complaint to the United Nations.
