00:00
Do you think that Inverness is a family-friendly staycation for people?
00:04
Yeah, definitely.
00:05
Well, they've got, apart from Bird Park, there's things around there for kids.
00:09
There's the swimming pool, there's the ice rink, I think they've still got the ice rink.
00:14
Plus, there's quite a lot of cafes and stuff for kids around about the town as well.
00:19
Do you think there's anything they could improve on?
00:21
A bit more like soft play areas and things like that,
00:23
because they're kind of out of the town centre.
00:25
You know, they're up at Asda's and things, and they're out of edge at Inverness.
00:29
There could be more inside Inverness, like for visitors wouldn't know to go out there.
00:35
Or a better signposted even.
00:38
I don't know, we've just been in the city centre for the first time today, so...
00:44
How much is it?
00:46
It's smaller than I thought it would be.
00:49
And I don't, yeah, for kids, I don't know if there's much to do around here.
00:54
But that's just for what we've seen.
00:56
Whereabouts are you from?
00:57
The Netherlands.
00:58
What do you think could be improved then to make it more family-friendly?
01:03
Maybe like playgrounds or something, just something for kids as well.
01:09
In comparison to where you're from, do you think there's more kind of family-friendly areas?
01:16
There are a lot of playgrounds, but I don't know, in the cities, maybe not.
01:21
It's difficult, I think, for kids.
01:23
I think cities, it's not that good of a place for kids.
01:28
I think so.
01:30
Whereabouts are you from?
01:32
We're from Tennessee in the United States.
01:34
And what do you think of it, do you think it's family-friendly?
01:36
Yes, it's very nice.
01:38
What do you think is good about it, family-friendly-wise, what's available?
01:43
What little we have seen.
01:45
There's a variety of things to do, a variety of restaurants to go to that would be familiar to
01:51
travelers and things that would be for local flavor here.
01:56
So I think it's very nice.
01:58
And if you could make some improvements, what would you say?
02:03
I don't think I've been here long enough to decide.
02:06
I really like the food.
02:08
Lots of variety.
02:11
I just like the atmosphere.
02:13
Scottish people.
02:14
That's right.
02:15
I have thought of one thing.
02:17
As an American, parking is a, it's a little harder than what we do in the United States.
02:26
So parking has been a little bit of, not a problem, but we've had to look.
02:31
Yeah, in what sense?
02:32
Do you have more parking units in America?
02:35
Yes, we have larger parking units, more parking, closer a lot of times to where you're going.
02:42
But like I said, that's one thing that we've really had to look for
02:47
and figure out where we're going.
02:51
So we know where to park.
02:53
Is it your first time in Inverness?
02:54
Absolutely.
02:55
Whereabouts are you from?
02:56
Nottingham.
02:56
What do you think of it so far?
02:57
Do you think there's a lot of things to do for family?
03:00
We've seen quite a few, just like basic activities.
03:04
Obviously the castle's closed, but there's the museum.
03:06
And we've just been having a potter around really.
03:08
It does look nice.
03:09
On first impressions, do you think there could be more for family and kids?
03:14
I think so, but we're literally just going on first impressions.
03:17
So yeah, I think that the shops are mostly chain shops.
03:22
We've not seen anything advertised except for a soft play centre on the way in.
03:26
Like to do with the odd boat trip, we've done crazy golf, that sort of thing.
03:30
It's difficult when you've got teenagers because they're too young to go out drinking,
03:33
but they are too old for the kind of traditional things.
