A new EU law will mandate speed limiters in new cars and vans, which will read speed limits and prevent speeding. UK vehicles will also be affected. How do you feel about this change, and what impact do you think it will have on road safety?

00:00Very, very strongly. I live in a village not far from here called Hallan, not that many

00:06residents, around 300, but we are on one of the main routes through to Avonmouth and because

00:12that has built up so much more we have a real problem with speeding. To get to the village

00:18you have to come down a hill either side which obviously increases their speed and they don't

00:24reduce at all as they come through. So this week we are putting a petition to South Gloucester

00:29Council asking for traffic calming, it's very important to us, very.

00:34I think if it improves safety aspect then great, yeah, I'd be all for it, you know.

00:45We've got a 70 mile an hour limit in this country anyway, I mean hands up, I go fast

00:51without telling myself, you know, and lots of people do, but anything that sort of improves

00:57safety then, yeah.
