00:00Hello and welcome to another edition of 5 Things To Do, and if it's distraction from

00:09the general election you're after, you're in the right place. The hottest tickets in

00:12town surely are the start of this year's Lytham Festival. Between the 3rd and 7th of July,

00:17TK Maxx presents Lytham Festival. It brings a fantastic line-up including Madness, Shania

00:22Twain, Rag and Bone Man, The Cortinas, Hosea, James and many, many more. Great support acts

00:28across all nights include Rick Astley, Johnny Marr and the Lightning Seeds to name but a

00:32few. Tickets are £45 but there's loads more information and prices on their websites.

00:38More live music now, this time at the Burnley Mechanics where the UK Rock Show makes an

00:42appearance on the 5th and 6th of July. Get ready to be transported back to the 80s heyday

00:46of classic rock, combining a feel of rock festival with the atmosphere of top end rock

00:51arena tour. Expect fireworks, flames, amazing lighting and exacting attention to detail

00:57as this amazing 5-piece band who have numerous recording credits, who have travelled the

01:00globe extensively, recreate hits from rock gods such as Journey, Aerosmith, Death Leopard,

01:06Bon Jovi, Kiss, ACDC, Van Halen and many more. Tickets for that one are £26.

01:12Blackburn next and a festival of making. The National Festival of Making is a unique celebration

01:17of UK making from kitchen table to factory floor, presenting a programme of work that

01:23combines art, manufacturing, making and communities. Commissioning international and national artists

01:28to create world-class works, a year-round programme and a participatory free family

01:32festival for all to enjoy. Expect workshops, talks, live music and performance and art,

01:38all within the town centre.

01:41Preston now and the return of their city Mela on the 6th of July. This long-standing, vibrant

01:45celebration of arts, music, dance, culture and heritage is back to give you a touch of

01:49South Asia in its 27th year. It's a great time to bring families and communities together

01:54for highlighting local talent and offering something for everyone. The word Mela means

01:58a fair which traditionally would bring the community together, exactly what this event

02:03achieves. Everyone is invited and welcome to participate in this fun and free event

02:07with a variety of stalls, food and workshops to get stuck into.

02:12And finally to Blackpool where local lad Alfie Bowe has announced extra dates to his huge

02:15UK tour this summer and will take in the Opera House on July 5th. Alfie released his

02:20stunning new top 10 charting album, Open Arms, the symphonic songbook, in October. Alfie's

02:27homage to rock sees the tenor rework versions of rock's finest tracks such as Bon Jovi's

02:31Living on a Prayer, Metallica's Nothing Else Matters, Bryan Adams' Summer of 69 and many

02:35more into simply spectacular symphonic masterpieces. Hear them live with tickets from £40.20.
