00:11 are back to school we've suddenly found some time for ourselves right? But what

00:15 to do with it all? Here's some suggestions for the next seven days

00:18 starting with comedy. Tom Allen has finally moved out of his parents house

00:22 which has been a great news for him, better news for department stores and

00:26 even better news for his latest stand-up tour as he's eager to share his life, updates,

00:31 get your opinions on his vegetable patch and delve into the protocol of inviting

00:36 friends with children for dinner. Tom arrives at Blackburn's King George's

00:40 Hall on Thursday the 14th of September and tickets are priced at £24.50.

00:45 And we'll stay with the same venue because on the following day Public

00:49 Image Limited will celebrate their 45th anniversary with an appearance as part

00:53 of their UK tour. Widely regarded as one of the most innovative and influential

00:59 bands of all time, Public Image's music has earned them five UK top 20 singles

01:03 and five UK top 20 albums. Led by former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon, the

01:09 band's shifting lineup saw their sound developed through rock, dance, folk, pop

01:13 and dub. Tickets are £35.50. Now then if you're old enough to remember Public

01:20 Image you're probably old enough to remember the Christians who play the

01:24 Atkinson in Southport on Friday the 15th of September. Renowned for an endless

01:28 string of soulful yet socially aware hits, Forgotten Town, Ideal World, Harvest

01:33 for the World and many more, the Christians enjoyed huge acclaim in the late 80s and

01:38 early 90s both in the UK and Europe. Still headed by the enigmatic lead

01:43 singer Gary Christian, who the Daily Mirror thinks is one of the finest voices in pop,

01:47 the band are enjoying something of a revival. Chris Evans said it was the best

01:51 gig he'd ever been to and you can find out why for a mere £32. Now then, if

01:58 all that music is making you want to dance we've got just the thing for you

02:01 because the Clitheroe Clogfest Day of Dance will be tapping its way to the

02:06 town's castle on Saturday the 16th. Watch clog dancers from up and down the

02:11 country perform traditional dance to lively music in venues around Clitheroe.

02:14 This is a free outdoor event and all are welcome. Dancing will start at the

02:19 castle in the morning and then move on to the market and Homeless Mill before

02:23 returning to finish at the castle for around 3 p.m. for a mass dance. So there.

02:28 Finally we see the return of the ever-popular Lancashire Encounter which

02:32 starts on Friday the 15th for three days across various locations in Preston.

02:37 Lancashire Encounter brings a fusion of dance, music, theatre, food and community

02:41 to Preston this September to celebrate the inspiring creativity and diversity

02:46 of Lancashire. Performance acts range from a magical torchlight procession,

02:50 hip-hop soundscape and Bangla folk art to a world-famous Punch and Judy show, a

02:56 gravity-defying urban astronaut and plenty more. Plus there's lots to get

03:00 involved with including the dance workshops, a nature-inspired sensory

03:04 experience and a story mixing station for kids just to name a few. Across eight

03:09 locations the festival offers an eclectic mix for everyone to encounter

03:13 and enjoy. Now before I go I know this feature is called Five Things to Do but I

03:19 couldn't let you go without mentioning the return of the World Fireworks

03:23 Championships in Blackpool which is on the night of the Saturday the 16th of

03:26 September at North Pier where India will get the ball rolling with some

03:30 state-of-the-art firing and design technology. There, stuck a little bonus one
