00:05 Hello and welcome to another edition of Five Things to Do, and the week we're looking at this time includes the dreaded Blue Monday.

00:12 But we don't want to dwell on that, we want to ignore it, we want to kick it into the long grass and laugh in its face.

00:17 And one person that will help you with that laughter is comedian Ed Byrne.

00:21 Fresh from last year's Edinburgh Fringe and with a slew of five-star reviews,

00:25 one of the UK's favourite TV household names returns to the stage with a brand new and most personal show to date.

00:31 Blow away the January bloomers at the Lancaster Grand Theatre on Wednesday 17th at 7.30pm and tickets will cost you £27.50.

00:40 We'll keep the laughs going then, this time courtesy of the brilliant Sarah Millican,

00:45 who's appearing at King George's Hall in Blackburn on Friday 19th.

00:48 In a brand new show called Late Bloomer, she'll explain how she went from such a quiet little girl to a comedian, writer, presenter

00:55 and the winner of the Comedy Award for Best Newcomer at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe.

01:04 We'll stay in Blackburn while we're there because here's one for the sporting fans.

01:08 You can spend an evening with Sir Bradley Wiggins, the former professional road and track racing cyclist,

01:13 who competed professionally between 2001 and 2016.

01:17 Join the Tour de France and Olympic medalist as he discusses his fantastic career, what brought him to cycling and everything in between.

01:25 This one's on Saturday 20th January at 8pm and tickets range from £32.00 all the way up to a super VIP ticket

01:32 which includes exclusive drinks reception with Sir Bradley, front row seating, photo opportunity and a signed picture.

01:41 Back to comedy, sort of, because Jim Davidson is appearing at Blackpool's Viva show bar in a new show for 2024 called Swimming Against the Tide.

01:50 Join Jim on his marathon swim as he resists the pull of the undercurrent of radical sensibilities of the woke minority.

01:58 The show's season starts on Friday 19th January and then there are dates right through to the 12th July.

02:07 And finally, if you're wondering what 2024 holds for you, perhaps you'll find some clues in the stars.

02:13 Because at Brockholms Nature Reserve in Preston you can join an exciting tour by local astrophotographer Lee Hunt,

02:20 where he will take you on a virtual journey through the night skies of Lancashire, from our planetary neighbours to distant galaxies.

02:26 Find out what can be seen with the naked eye, basic equipment and more advanced photography of the wonders of the night sky.

02:32 The tour will be split in two halves with a pie and peas supper served during the break.

02:37 If the sky is clear there will be an opportunity to view some of the wonders with Starsmith telescopes.
