00:00Ladies and gentlemen, the moment of our signing ceremony has commenced.
00:05Gentlemen, please remain as you are.
00:07This collaboration between Batik Air and Kia,
00:10facilitated through Dynamic Jaya Motors,
00:13is a testament to their innovative spirit and compliment to excellence
00:18in providing top-notch service to travellers.
00:22I understand that starting today,
00:24Batik Air's business class passengers will benefit
00:27from a seamless and luxurious transfer service
00:30between the main terminal building and the satellite building in KLIA Terminal 1.
00:37Passengers will be short-footed in the state-of-the-art all-electric Kia EV9
00:42as well as the latest model of Kia Carnival.
00:45This is, of course, a very welcome service
00:48because, first of all, over the past year,
00:51we have faced a lot of challenges and problems,
00:54as you know, with the AeroTrain.
00:56Passengers have to travel with buses
00:59between the main terminal building and the satellite building.
01:02And, of course, we received a lot of feedback from passengers,
01:06particularly those who are taking business class,
01:09which, of course, they pay the premium
01:11and they hope that they have some premium services.
01:13So, in this regard, I would like to thank Batik Air
01:16for taking this initiative to provide premium services for your business class passengers.
01:21This service is timely, as Malaysia is said to be a focal point
01:24for government and business leaders from the region
01:27as our country takes over the chairmanship of ASEAN next year.
01:31ASEAN leaders are already travelling to our country
01:34to attend high-level meetings hosted by Malaysia.
01:37In November, the Ministry of Transport will also host
01:40the 30th ASEAN Transport Minister Meeting,
01:43as well as senior transport officials from China, Japan and South Korea here in Kuala Lumpur.
01:48The service level of our airlines and airports will set the arriving world leaders' impression of Malaysia.
01:54As this is our gateway and first impression of the country,
01:57therefore, when we provide a warm welcome to them, it makes a lot of difference.
02:03Today's launch is not just about introducing a new terminal transfer service.
02:07It is about setting a new standard for comfort, convenience and sustainability in air travel.
02:13Malaysia is committed to our goal in achieving net-zero carbon emission by 2050.
02:19For the aviation industry, sustainability must be viewed holistically
02:23and is not limited to only aircraft.
02:26Controlling our carbon emission must also include all supporting services,
02:29including ground operations and, in today's example, terminal transfer operations.
02:35This Baltic Air and KIA partnership is a good example
02:38of industry players taking proactive steps towards responsible climate stewardship.
02:44By integrating electric vehicles like the KIA EV9 into their operations,
02:49Baltic Air is taking meaningful steps towards a low-carbon future for our aviation industry.
02:55This kind of commitment is what we need more of.
02:59As we continue to address the pressing issue of climate change,
03:02our vision is to position Malaysia as a hub for sustainable aviation solutions.
03:07We are committed to encouraging innovation and partnership
03:11that propels us towards a sustainable, low-carbon future in the aviation sector.
03:16At Baltic Air, we continuously try to enhance the comfort and convenience of our passengers.
03:23This new service is designed to provide our business-class passengers
03:28with a seamless and premium transfer between the main terminal building
03:34and the satellite building at KLIA Terminal 1.
03:38The service supplements the existing bus transfer provided by the Malaysia Airport.
03:45In collaboration with KIA, a leader in sustainable automotive solutions,
03:51we are introducing eco-friendly and premium transfer options.
03:56The all-electric KIA EV9 and the latest model of Carnival
04:01will be utilised showcasing cutting-edge automotive technologies.
04:08This initiative aligns perfectly with our long-term vision of advancing sustainability in aviation.
04:16In addition to the groundbreaking transfer services,
04:20I am also thrilled to announce another exciting upgrade.
