00:22Sir, can you tell us about the 2024 Bantog Awards for Media and Science Communication?

00:30Okay.

00:31The Bantog Awards for Media and Science Communication was created to highlight the outstanding stories

00:42of science and technology, where it gives knowledge to the public for the benefit of science and technology.

00:57Is this the first Bantog Awards in DOSP or when was this?

01:05The Bantog Awards was first held in 2018 under the name Bantog Awards Science for the People.

01:15So, for 2024, we are the only ones to continue this program.

01:21Sir, what is the importance of highlighting the public's knowledge of science and technology?

01:30It is important to highlight the public's knowledge of science and technology

01:35because we need to empower the public in their decisions.

01:41So, when you go out, for example, you go to school or work, you need to make a decision.

01:49You need to bring, if you are going to make a decision, if you are going to bring an umbrella,

01:54or a jacket, or a capote because it will rain later, or you need a fan because it is too hot outside.

02:00So, you will only know that if you are following the weather report of DOSP.

03:09and Best S&T Editorial or Opinion for online and print.

03:14They will win a trophy worth Php 50,000 each.

03:23We also have a category for Best S&T Investigative Story for TV,

03:32Best S&T Editorial Opinion for audiovisual,

03:36Best S&T News Story for audiovisual,

03:38and Best S&T Short Form Series.

03:41They will win Php 100,000 and a trophy from DOSP.
