The issue of bad parking on streets and pavements in the UK is becoming increasingly problematic,
00:09
prompting various cities to take action. Edinburgh has introduced a stringent ban on pavement
00:16
parking, imposing fines of £100 on offenders. Other cities are considering or have implemented
00:23
similar measures to curb this practice, which often forces pedestrians, including those
00:29
with disabilities, or pushing prams onto the road. In London, pavement parking has been
00:35
illegal since 1974, with the Highway Code explicitly prohibiting it to prevent obstructions
00:42
and to ensure safe passage for pedestrians. It has been suggested that extending these
00:48
regulations across the country could significantly improve urban mobility and safety, reducing
00:55
the daily hazards faced by vulnerable groups. It does beg the question, what is the most
01:00
difficult place to park in our part of the world?
