Yes there has been an uptick in the ASL across government and again we can go
00:05
through them and if you're going to continue to focus on it I think you have
00:08
to come clean on so are you going to sack people from DBA who are now getting
00:12
money to veterans? I mean this budget veterans payments go up by six billion
00:17
dollars across five years because veterans are actually not waiting for
00:22
their compensation payment because people are dealing with their claims.
00:26
NDIA are you not going to support the 4,000 jobs in Defence and Home Affairs
00:31
and the AFP that have been brought on for new functions? I understand that putting on
00:34
these public servants is probably helping your electoral chances. It has nothing to do
00:38
with my electoral chances. Absolutely two-thirds of the APS is not in Canberra
00:43
so like that to me is offensive. It's got absolutely zero to do with that. This is
00:50
about resourcing a public service properly to do the job. Well the PBO
00:55
costed out the cost of 36,000 public servants. It came up with 24
01:03
billion dollars. Yes I noticed that was a figure that the Leader of the
01:06
Opposition was saying that he would say and you've got to you know stand by that
01:10
figure and say that you're going to sack 4,000 people from Defence and Home Affairs
01:15
and 4,000 people from Services Australia and veterans will not get their
01:20
compensation payments as they experienced under you that's fine. If
01:25
you're going to find 24 billion dollars in savings just be upfront about what
01:30
will happen to public servants.
