We are here with Hardy. How's it going?
00:02
Good.
00:03
One word. Love that.
00:05
What's your favorite and least favorite part about an award show like tonight?
00:09
Oh, that's a great question.
00:12
Favorite part is like just seeing all the homies.
00:17
Because you never get to do that ever.
00:20
It's like so rare.
00:22
Least favorite part is...
00:28
This is such a cliche answer, but it's so true. The hangover.
00:32
I got so drunk last night that I thought I got roofied. I'm not even kidding.
00:37
And it happens like once every five years.
00:41
And I literally woke up this morning and didn't know where I was.
00:44
I'm very hungover right now.
00:46
So we are in Texas at the ACMs. Thank you for being here.
00:50
Did you have this in your bingo card?
00:52
We talked about killing...
00:54
Yeah, I was going to say.
00:55
It just says "Kill Cheetahs" on your card.
00:58
So you with the Hick's Tape were part of this amazing song, Morgan Wallen, Post Malone.
01:03
Tell me a little bit about getting them together.
01:05
And now they have a single out.
01:07
Look, all that credit goes to Earn and Charlie Handsome, who's the songwriter.
01:14
I was just along for the ride.
01:16
I just got invited to some writing rooms and fortunately got to write some songs with them.
01:23
But it is very cool.
01:25
The one thing I will say about it is I have so much respect for Posty because he came to Nashville
01:32
and he immersed himself in our culture for like six months.
01:35
And he went to freaking Midtown every night and drank.
01:37
And he got up the next day and he wrote songs.
01:39
And he wrote with like Rhett Aikens and Josh Thompson, all these people that most people have never heard of.
01:45
But they're hit writers in Nashville and they're really good.
01:49
And he just took a shot on all these guys and he did it the right way.
01:54
And I just have a lot of respect for him for taking six months of his life that he could have done anything,
01:58
but he immersed himself into Nashville and he made a record based off of that.
02:02
And I just think that's the coolest thing in the world.
02:04
I don't know if I could do that.
02:06
Like go to L.A. and I don't know.
02:08
It took a lot of patience and just good on him for doing it the right way.
02:13
If you ever try L.A., we will welcome you with open arms.
02:16
I love L.A.
02:18
People are like, "Eh, L.A. I like L.A. L.A.'s fun.
02:21
I think it's beautiful.
02:23
So speaking of music for yourself, I know you're working on a rock project now.
02:26
What can you tell us?
02:28
I can tell you everything.
02:29
Tell us everything.
02:30
Literally because it gets announced tonight and I finally got the green light.
02:33
It's called, the album is called Quit.
02:35
It's 13 songs.
02:39
I've got Fred Durst on the album.
02:41
I've got Chad Smith from Red Hot Chili Peppers playing drums on a song.
02:45
There's no country songs on it, but I also--
02:50
none of this makes any sense, but my next country single is coming from this album.
02:56
It's called Six Feet Under and it's a song I wrote for my wife.
02:59
I don't know.
03:02
It's a big rock and roll album and I'm so freaking excited about it.
03:07
I'm so excited.
03:09
That's awesome.
03:11
It does make a bit of sense because country is rock and rock is country
03:14
and everything is just a melting pot right now.
03:17
Is there one artist you wanted to get on the album but you didn't,
03:20
but maybe for the next one?
03:26
No, I mean--
03:30
No.
03:33
My fever dream is--
03:36
or pipe dream, whatever the good one is, is Mike Shinoda from Ligon Park.
03:41
But I don't know.
03:43
I think it was perfect.
03:45
I don't know.
03:47
The last few months have been crazy and I've gotten to collab with so many people.
03:50
I'm just happy with everybody.
03:53
I'm not worried about anybody that wasn't on it or anything.
03:57
I'm just stoked that it just turned out the way it did.
04:00
I can't wait to hear it.
04:01
Thank you.
04:02
Thank you so much.
04:03
Have so much fun tonight.
04:04
I will.
04:05
Thanks.
04:06
Same to you all.
