00:00It's an important meeting because we can't talk about the ecological transition if we don't
00:09also talk about the circular economy, and there is no circular economy if we don't
00:13put in place those green purchases that lead the public, but also the private sector,
00:19to put in place ways to use good products that derive from recycling rather than from
00:26raw materials. So it's a closure of the cycle of the circular economy, which is fundamental
00:31to rebuild it in this country, which has a leadership on the recycling of raw materials,
00:34and which instead still struggles a lot on green purchases.
00:37We have been collaborating for several years on this meeting, producing a report on the
00:42state of application of green purchases in the public sector, focusing on the various
00:49polluting stations, to tell how the green purchases revolution is proceeding, to highlight
00:56in which sectors delays are concentrated, to make sure that the handbrake is lowered
01:02and that we can accelerate definitively, and also in this edition we are producing a new
01:07update with some important focuses on some stations that can really change the outcome
01:12of green purchases in our country.
01:14As far as the circular economy is concerned, we are the leading country in Europe.
01:17We are better than the Germans. We talk about it and we don't take revenge.
01:22In terms of the recovery of raw materials, we are much better than all the countries in
01:26northern Europe. This is partly for historical reasons, because Italy is a country with
01:31a shortage of raw materials, partly because in the last 25 years we have built some
01:35collection and recycling lines that have given concrete results.
01:38We have to do the same thing also on those parts of the circular economy where
01:42it is even more difficult. The sector of green purchases is a sector in which we are
01:46still a bit behind, but this does not make up for the Italian leadership in this sector
01:51that we absolutely have to tell more and more.
