00:00 Sportscaster Rick Harrow. College Minute, but it impacts NIL and it also impacts the NFL.
00:07 Realize that before NIL was introduced in 2021, there were about 128 or so players, underclassmen, who entered the draft.
00:19 This last year, 58. Why the difference?
00:23 Well, NIL money's made it up for a lot of the kids who would have been drafted.
00:27 In fact, in 2023, a fourth-round draft pick would have commanded about a $400,000 guaranteed signing bonus.
00:35 And many of those players in that pool made up to or more than $400,000 in NIL money.
00:42 So the answer is, you know, you get paid more if you're actually in college.
00:46 You improve your skills, maybe improve your draft stock even higher a year later.
00:50 And it fundamentally changes the dynamics of everything regarding NIL Transfer Portal and the draft, Transcendental.
