00:00How about this story from over the weekend?
00:02We've seen a few of these now, and a lot of them have involved the NBA, Scotty.
00:07U.S. District Attorney's Office investigating Malik Beasley
00:11on allegations of gambling related to NBA games and prop bets.
00:17I believe the games in question are from 2024 from the report that I was reading.
00:25Not a good scene here as, once again, one of these players gets tripped up
00:30for some interesting behavior in the gambling market.
00:34Yeah, I think Malik Beasley, it would appear to me, if they got him dead to rights,
00:38he's screwed.
00:40I mean, he's done playing NBA basketball.
00:43I mean, they'll throw him out of that league so fast, make your head spin.
00:47Honestly, like, did you see some of the highlights of the games in question?
00:52Like, this guy racing up the court to make a layup with no time left
00:58to cover, like, prop bets?
01:00Like, they're accusing him of all this stuff.
01:03And listen, the illegalities of gambling have reared their ugly head
01:09ever since the Supreme Court allowed gambling.
01:14When they made it a law that you could, you know, gamble,
01:17and they opened up all these sports books in all these states,
01:20and they allowed gambling and sports betting, I mean, let's just face facts.
01:24Nobody wants to hear it, but it's true.
01:27There's just been nothing but criminal activity.
01:31I mean, just massive criminal activity.
01:34The underworld, betting, bad news, it's all there is to it.
01:39Prop bets, college kids on the take, pro athletes on the take.
01:43One controversy after the next.
01:45It never ends.
01:47Mike, it just never ends.
01:48I know that, and I know that people bring up,
01:52I think the people that don't pay a lot of attention to it
01:55kind of look at it as, oh, ever since this stuff was legalized
02:00is when all this happens.
02:02Actually, it's the other side of the coin.
02:04Because this stuff was legalized is why you're finding out
02:08that these guys are doing it.
02:10Because if it was all still in the dark.
02:13No one would know.
02:14So you think it helps?
02:15No, I think it helps.
02:17It's finding, it's flagging the times where strange betting occurrences
02:22are happening or strange problems.
02:24Like the Porter and this guy.
02:26Like legalized gambling is finding the problems that are going on with this stuff.
02:31Fair enough.
02:32But they're also going to toss his ass just like they did Porter.
02:35He's done.
02:36That's his problem.
02:38But people saying that, oh, look at what legalized gambling has done.
02:42No, you're wrong.
02:43This stuff was going on before legalized gambling.
02:46You're right.
02:46You just didn't know about it.
02:48Because it was not, the government couldn't find out about it.
02:51Now they can.
02:52And now they're finding it because the gambling is legalized.
02:55It's the other side of the coin.
02:56But I think it's great because you're right.
02:59And it's exposing all these people and they're getting busted and popped
03:03and they're finding out who the bad seeds are.
03:06And once they catch you, you're finished.
03:10Finished.
03:11I mean, he's finished.
03:13Like he was scheduled to be a free agent.
03:14I saw someone listing like all the potential spots for guys to sign.
03:18And then under Malik Beasley, now it says jail.
03:21It says that's all the guys that are going to sign that Beasley.
03:24But I doubt that.
03:26I really doubt that.
03:27Now, like they're saying they're going after him for that, right?
03:30Like we'll see if that, if he gets time.
03:34I, I, I highly doubt it.
03:36I would guess he'd get fines, expended sentences and probation.
03:43And at worst house arrest, they're going to put Malik Beasley with all his money in prison.
03:48Is that what they're going to do?
