00:03North Derbyshire planners have given the go-ahead for the ongoing Eggstow Park residential and

00:08commercial development at Clay Cross to be altered, with the introduction of more housing,

00:12the loss of employment land and the relocation of a leisure and recreation area.

00:17The Planning Committee of North East Derbyshire District Council approved St Modwin Homes

00:22proposed changes to four areas of land at the development, which is on the Bywater site,

00:27near Brasington Lane and Furness Hill Road north of Clay Cross.

00:31Eggstow Park was expected to deliver an estimated 669 dwellings in total,

00:37and the new changes will now mean an additional 106 homes.

00:41Approval of the proposed changes is also expected to create an opportunity to revisit and deliver

00:46a link road between the A61 and the A6175, according to the Council.

00:51Walton Peak Flying High Primary and Nursery Academy is celebrating its recent Ofsted inspection,

00:56which graded the school good in all areas.

00:59Inspectors said,

01:00This school has improved markedly in recent years.

01:03Pupils appreciate the school's warmth and welcoming environment,

01:06where everyone and every day matters.

01:09Parents and carers know staff go the extra mile to make sure that pupils feel valued and happy.

01:14Pupils want to come to school because, as one of them was eager to explain,

01:18it will make them smart for the future.
