Here's today's Derbyshire Towns video bulletin.
00:04
Chesterfield residents have lost their campaign to stop plans for a new nursing care home,
00:08
which they believe will lead to increased traffic and pose safety and noise problems
00:12
in their neighbourhood.
00:14
Chesterfield Borough Council approved Carnwell Development's amended application for the
00:18
specialist nursing home for adults off Hartfield Close in Hasland.
00:23
Councillor Amanda Sargent, who is the ward member for Hasland, had objected to the plans
00:26
for the 34-bedroom facility, and she had raised residents' concerns about the narrowness
00:31
of the cul-de-sac which is Hartfield Close, and the feared unsuitable nature of the site.
00:36
Carnwell Development's original planning application was refused by the council in
00:39
February on the grounds that it would create traffic disruption and safety issues, and
00:44
the on-site parking was deemed inadequate.
00:46
However, they amended and submitted a new application which features a slightly smaller
00:51
building with more car parking spaces.
00:56
Derbyshire care home residents with a combined age of 948 have created a hilarious western
01:01
comedy featuring shootout scenes and references to Yorkshire puddings.
01:05
The 11 OAPs, who have a collective age of 948, wrote and starred in the movie which
01:10
is called The Tale of Robin of Otley, while living at the Old Vicarage residential home
01:14
in Bakewell.
01:16
They captured their whimsical dialogue using a smartphone and a green screen, before bringing
01:20
it to life with AI animation.
01:22
Their final script was a humorous take on The Tale of Robin Hood, but set in the Wild
01:26
West and with references to West Yorkshire.
01:29
Hello, I didn't know you were there.
01:55
I want to tell you a story about my great great grandad.
02:04
He was a famous outlaw from Otley in West Yorkshire, and he used to rob from the rich
02:14
and give it to the poor.
02:16
The story begins on Hill Claymore, just west of Otley.
02:46
Oh my darling, oh my darling, it's happening time, da da da da da.
03:05
Right, this is a robbery, your tribe or your life.
03:10
You are making a huge mistake.
03:13
Shut up and give me the loot.
03:16
Do you know who this belongs to?
03:19
No, who?
03:21
It belongs to the king.
03:23
I said pipe down.
03:25
You're going to get into a lot of trouble.
03:28
Well it belongs to me now.
03:31
Millie, pack up the tribe.
03:38
Then where do I go?
03:41
Up a tree.
03:43
Up a tree?
03:45
It's barren out here, I can't see any trees.
03:49
Get in that bush then.
03:52
That bush?
03:54
Yes, it's perfect.
03:56
They don't call it an ambush for nothing.
03:59
But it's a bramble bush.
04:02
Stop mithering and get yourself in there.
04:05
Right, I'll call attention to myself and nothing will be wrong soon.
04:10
There's someone coming.
04:15
Stop, stop, in the name of the king.
04:18
Hello, what's that up to?
04:22
I'm transporting these Yorkshire puddings to the king.
04:26
My cart is broken down.
04:28
Are you with the A?
04:30
No, where they are I see.
04:33
What's that stand for?
04:35
Rob all carts.
04:38
Hand over the loose.
04:40
I haven't got the loose.
04:42
I've only got this ukulele.
05:08
On hill Climobatat, on hill Climobatat.
05:17
Ey up, here comes the pastor.
05:21
Why, I wonder what they want?
05:30
Hello pastor, what can we do for thee?
05:34
You're not thinking well of singing me a hymn, are you?
05:39
No, I'm here because I need your help.
05:42
If it's about the tribe, I'm afraid it's been difficult to get hold of recently.
05:48
They've doubled the guards on the wagons.
05:51
No, it's the sheriff is up to the Yorkshire pudding tax.
05:56
You what?
05:58
What are you having with the onion gravy?
06:00
Oatcakes.
06:02
What?
06:03
Good God.
06:05
We'll have to come and sort it out.
06:09
God bless you Robin.
06:13
Right.
06:17
Now this is the plan.
06:19
Yeah.
06:23
Stick it up your jumper.
06:25
Right, Lord help us.
06:29
Let him have it.
06:33
Did you see that?
06:49
They shot at us.
06:51
Alright, if they want a fight, I'll give them one.
