00:00 There's not much out there for the youth really in the sheep industry and so I just wanted

00:07 the opportunity to be able to learn and learn more within the industry and meet other people

00:11 that are interested in sheep.

00:12 So what's been your biggest highlight?

00:15 Meeting people. I'm not normally the social butterfly that goes out and just talks to

00:20 people but I've made a fair few friends here which has been absolutely amazing because

00:24 that's not what I expected to do at all. But also, yeah, I guess getting to handle the

00:29 sheep and actually learn from industry people has been an amazing opportunity that not many

00:34 people get to have.

00:36 Would you like to continue on in the sheep industry?

00:38 Oh 100%. I'm lucky I'm 20 years old and I already know sheep's going to be my life so

00:44 it's going to be something I could probably be in forever. I don't know 100% where I'll

00:48 always be but I know it will involve sheep, yeah.

00:51 I have a White Suffolk stud that I run on my parents' property while also doing commercial

00:57 sheep.

00:58 Long, long term I want my stud to be my career. I want that to be something I want to be known.

01:03 I want people to go, my name be mentioned or my stud be mentioned and it be spoken of

01:09 positively and known as being someone who breeds the breed well. Yeah, I just want to

01:15 I guess improve the industry and also encourage youth as well to keep going through it because

01:21 it's a dying industry, the sheep, everyone's moving to cattle. So I want to improve I guess

01:26 the youth support and get everyone involved because I love it that much that I thought

01:30 everyone else should love it just as much as well.
