00:00 Hello there, this is me, Ansh Pandey, and you are watching One India English.
00:04 If there is any scam that the whole India is likely talking about,
00:10 it is surely the Delhi Liquor Policy Scam.
00:13 Almost a decade ago, no one would have imagined or even thought that the Aam Aadmi Party,
00:20 the pioneer of the anti-corruption movement in India, will face such a big accusation of corruption.
00:27 And its leader, also the CM of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal,
00:31 will be in jail because of a money trial in this liquor policy scam.
00:36 The Enforcement Directorate, ED, in court had already stated that Kejriwal, Arvind Kejriwal,
00:44 is the mastermind of the liquor policy scam. And even the High Court of Delhi had acknowledged in
00:50 its statement, while denying the bail to Kejriwal, that yes, he has played a role
00:56 in this specific scam. And so, the Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, is right now lodged
01:02 in Tihar Jail after his arrest in this liquor scam. But, now it looks like his worries are
01:10 going to worsen. Why? Well, because it appears that now he is also on the radar of the Central
01:17 Bureau of Investigation, that is, CBI. Today, the CBI, which reached the Rose Avenue Court
01:24 regarding the remand of BRS leader K. Kavita, also took the name of Delhi Chief Minister,
01:30 Arvind Kejriwal, and said that there is enough evidence against him in this case.
01:36 According to media reports, the Central Investigative Agency has said that it also has
01:43 WhatsApp chats and statements of the co-accused in this case. K. Kavita, who was arrested first by ED
01:50 and then by CBI in the alleged liquor scam, was presented in the Rose Avenue Court today,
01:56 seeking a five-day remand. The CBI asked for a five-day remand of K. Kavita. During the hearing,
02:03 the CBI lawyer also took the name of Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party leader and convener,
02:09 Arvind Kejriwal, who is right now in Tihar Jail. The lawyer said a liquor businessman of South
02:15 Group met with Arvind Kejriwal and sought help for his business in Delhi. Kejriwal, in return,
02:22 assured him of help. We have enough material, evidence, WhatsApp chats, and even the statements
02:29 of the co-concerned accused in this case. Earlier, the ED had also claimed to have sufficient
02:36 evidence against Kejriwal and termed him a conspirator of the liquor scam. Kejriwal,
02:43 who was arrested on 21 March, is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in judicial custody and it is being
02:49 told that CBI can also arrest Kejriwal very soon. The investigation into this controversial exercise
02:56 policy of 2021-22 with ED and CBI is likely going to raise more concerns for the Aam Aadmi Party,
03:03 which is right now saying that this is now becoming a fight for their existence and
03:08 the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal is kind of deliberate as per several Aam Aadmi Party leaders.
03:13 However, apart from Kejriwal, CBI is also mentioning the former Deputy CM of Delhi,
03:19 Manish Sisodia's name, making several allegations against K Kavita Sisodia. The CBI said Dinesh
03:27 Arora, accused, turned government witness, confirmed in a statement that Abhishek Goenpally
03:32 informed that 100 crore was given to Vijay Nair. The statement of Hawala operators under section
03:39 161 and 164 of CRPC confirmed the payment of 11.9 crores. Furthermore, Buchi Babu's chat revealed
03:48 that he had stake in Indo Spirit. Despite being blacklisted, licenses were given to Indo Spirit
03:55 under the pressure of accused Manish Sisodia. And so the CBI sought five-day custody of BRS
04:02 leader K Kavita saying that she is avoiding answering questions straightforward and not
04:07 cooperating at all in the investigation. Kavita's lawyer meanwhile has termed the client's arrest
04:12 by CBI illegal and accused the investigative agency of violating the fundamental rights.
04:19 But indeed this liquor scam investigation is getting interesting. Kejriwal is now at the
04:26 Supreme Court's doorstep seeking appeal and exit from the case. But it appears that CBI is likely
04:32 going to be ready just before the next round of interrogation for Arvind Kejriwal.
