00:29 I am not talking of not giving importance to the body.

00:35 What I am saying is know what the body is and that knowledge will tell you how important

00:40 the body is.

00:42 You cannot wish away your neighbor, can you?

00:45 And the body is a lifelong neighbor.

00:47 We are born wedded to the body.

00:53 The body is a lifelong spouse.

00:57 You are born with the spouse.

01:00 So it is impossible to not to give importance to it.

01:03 But you must know exactly how important and in which case, in what fields, in which direction.

01:14 If I am sweating on my forehead, it would be not really an act of bravedo or wisdom

01:22 to say, "Oh, this is not me, so I will not wipe it out".

01:25 I would rather pick the towel and say, "Fine, be done with it and continue with the discussion".

01:32 The thing is about giving the body its right place, not letting it dominate your life.

01:40 We are not talking of being cruel to the body.

01:45 We are not talking of ignoring the body or being oblivious to its natural needs.

01:53 You have to clean it, you have to feed it.

01:58 And the human body is a very delicate thing compared to that of the animals.

02:03 It requires a lot of maintenance.

02:04 It has to be provided all that medical care.

02:09 When it comes to what the society says and all that, on issues like homosexuality, you

02:20 see, to whom is the society?

02:24 Again, the society is to the body.

02:28 The one who knows the right place of the body also knows the right place of the society.

02:36 And if the society starts talking too much, you say, "When I do not listen even to myself,

02:45 how will I listen to you?

02:47 Who the hell are you to lord over me?"

02:52 But that does not mean that you quit listening to others and start following your own dictates.

03:07 One has to be extremely careful here.

03:11 This kind of pseudo-rebellion will not help.

03:17 What is the body?

03:18 The body is an equipment that always looks at the outside.

03:24 The body is looking at this, this, this, this, this, this, this.

03:29 So even when you want to rebel, if your body identified, you will rebel against this, this,

03:36 this, this, this, this, this.

03:37 And outside of you is the society.

03:40 So you can very well anoint yourself as a great rebel because you are violating the

03:50 norms of the society and you can feel very happy.

03:53 I am a great rebel.

03:56 I am going against the society.

03:57 All right, you are going against the society.

04:00 But are you able to go against yourself?

04:03 No.

04:04 Because that knowledge, that realization, that insight you do not have.

04:11 So especially as young people, we love to flout social norms.

04:20 And in the process we became slaves to ourselves.

04:26 I say I have a tendency to live my life this way.

04:32 And if the society does not allow me, I will not listen to the society.

04:37 Why?

04:38 Very fine.

04:42 But what is worse?

04:43 Having a master stand there outside of yourself or having a master sit in here within yourself?

05:15 Young people love to rebel against the one outside the door.

05:19 But if the one outside the door manages to sneak in and starts posturing as an insider

05:32 to the house, a family member, then we say, welcome, welcome.

05:42 I'll have no eyes to see that this that I'm calling as within, this that I'm calling as

05:50 myself is actually something alien, foreign, embedded inside my system.

06:04 It is the outside masquerading as the inside.

06:12 So a lot of these new age issues, I think, have to be seen in that light.

06:20 You know, you talk of freedoms to live your life the way you want to.

06:25 My question is, what is this you?

06:39 But what do you mean by my?

06:46 I read somewhere, when it comes to sexual orientations, there was this demand that the

06:54 society by way of its education system is imposing heterosexuality on kids.

07:03 They said, you see, all the stories that you feed your kids are about a man and a woman.

07:11 So the kids are being artificially taught to be heterosexual.

07:16 So what you need to do is that right from the age of five or something, you need to

07:22 expose the kids to various alternate forms of sexuality.

07:27 You need to tell the kid, you know, you can make out with a girl or a boy or whatever,

07:33 you know.

07:36 I do not know whether this is freedom.

07:40 It's for you to think.

07:45 When you say my life, my choice, what exactly does that mean?

07:50 To choose one has to know, right?

07:58 Just after this, obviously we have some refreshments served outside.

08:03 There is sipitaka and toka toka.

08:06 What would you like to have?

08:17 But if you are given that choice, you know, the two things are kept in front of you, sipitaka

08:21 and toka toka, you would pick up one of them.

08:26 Now how would you make the choice?

08:29 In absence of knowledge, how does the choice get made?

08:36 The one that has a more tempting aroma?

08:40 The one that looks more like food porn?

08:44 Right?

08:47 Now that's how our choices are made in absence of self-knowledge.

08:55 And then we say, well, this is my sexual orientation.

08:58 How do you know?

08:59 Do you know the body?

09:00 Do you know what this thing called sex is?

09:03 Is it just something physical?

09:06 Or does it have a psychological, rather spiritual dimension to it?

09:11 Do you know any of these?

09:16 On the other side are those who are proudly calling themselves normal because they are

09:23 heterosexual.

09:26 What is normal?

09:27 Even rapists are heterosexuals.

09:30 Does that make them normal?

09:36 What do you mean by the norm?

09:39 Do you have to be healthy or do you have to be normal?

09:46 There was COVID.

09:48 In a family of eight, seven are infected.

09:52 Now do you want to be healthy or normal?

09:56 If you are normal, then you would be one of them.

09:58 You would be the eighth one.

10:02 You understand what norm means?

10:05 What is norm?

10:06 That which everyone is doing, the state that most people are in is the norm.

10:16 Want to be normal?

10:17 No, you want to be healthy.

10:20 And then in this age of sickness, health is abnormal.

10:27 Is it not?

10:28 So just because you are doing something that everybody else does, it does not make you

10:35 some kind of winner.

10:40 Homosexuality, heterosexuality, this, that.

10:49 What is sex first of all?

10:52 No clarity.

10:55 You get to a certain age, you start feeling a certain attraction, it's arising from

11:00 the body and the social influences and you are just carried away by the current.

11:08 We will talk of the normal kind and the alternate kind later on.

11:14 First of all, do we understand the body?

11:17 Do we understand who we are?

11:20 Do we understand why this force called sex is so compelling?

11:29 We just want to raise slogans on this side or that side of the divide.
