Hello and welcome to our latest guide to 5 things to do and this one covers the 18th
00:09
to the 24th of December. Yes, it's that final week running to Christmas so I can't imagine
00:14
you're looking for things to do but here's 5 anyway.
00:17
First of all we start with the Pendle Village Mill Christmas Express which is on Friday
00:21
to Sunday the 22nd to the 24th. Discover a world of wonder and excitement with your very
00:26
own golden ticket to board a magical midnight train. Children are invited to wear their
00:31
cosiest pyjamas and dressing gowns as they take a journey through a winter wonderland
00:35
that Christmas dreams are made of. The secret is that it isn't actually a train ride but
00:40
a mesmerising walkthrough journey filled with the magic and wonder of Christmas. A 30 minute
00:45
experience with elves to guide you through the activities. Tickets are from £5.94 a
00:50
go which is a very specific price.
00:53
Head to the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust now at Martinmere near Olmsgirt where you can
00:57
sail to Santa. Sail across to Santa's Island, meet the big fella himself and his elves and
01:03
get busy in the Elves Workshop making a pine cone reindeer. It's on the 21st to the 23rd
01:08
of December and child tickets are £17 each but non-members will have to pay for an admission
01:13
ticket to Martinmere as well.
01:16
Now if you've left it this late to buy presents I do admire your disorganisation but perhaps
01:20
you'll find some unusual gifts at the King Street Arts Annual Fair at the Story in Lancaster.
01:25
More than 120 creative people from the Lancaster and Morecambe area and as far away as Manchester
01:30
and Liverpool will exhibit at the art fair which takes place in the impressive gallery
01:34
at the Story. The vast array of work on display will include everything from landscape paintings
01:39
to experimental wall sculptures. The fair can also boast photography, sculpture, ceramics,
01:44
needle felting, textiles, wire, prints and reclaimed objects. Cards and decorations perfect
01:50
for the festive season will also be on sale. It's free entry and on until the 21st of
01:57
December.
01:58
Preston next and Lancashire's most haunted hall will once again become the backdrop for
02:02
a ghost story for Christmas when a brand new spine-tingling seasonal play titled 'Lock
02:07
13' opens at Salisbury Hall. The 40 minute production is designed for families and lovers
02:12
of ghost stories and is now an annual event at the hall. The audience will travel through
02:16
time as the ghostly Christmas tale comes vividly to life in four dimensions and will be guided
02:22
through the rooms of the hall as they watch each scene of the story unfold. Performances
02:26
last approximately 40 minutes and begin at 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10pm nightly on the 17th to
02:33
the 22nd of December and tickets are £20.
02:38
Lastly an extravagant evening of glamour is awaiting you at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
02:43
Nightly between the 20th and 23rd of December you can enjoy an evening of glitz at their
02:47
Las Vegas Christmas Party Nights. Starring a fabulous cast of incredibly talented performers
02:53
you'll think you're in paradise with dinner, show, cocktails, dancing and roulette. Tickets
02:57
for that are priced at £20 each.
03:00
An exciting sounding high to end on there. I'll be back next week with a hangover no
03:04
doubt but I will be casting my eye on New Year celebrations so join me then. Have a
03:08
fabulous Christmas everyone and we'll see you next time.
