Hello, welcome to another edition of 5 Things to Do, and this one is a special family edition
00:10
because it's half term. Again, sorry adults, this might not be for you, but considering
00:15
you'll be at your wits end by Monday lunchtime, you might want some tips. So, here we go.
00:19
Mudfest is at Martin Muir Wetland Centre between the 10th and the 18th February. Get stuck
00:25
into your half term with mud obstacle courses, mud kitchens, wild crafts and much more. Also
00:30
returning is the annual Northwest Puddle Jumping Championships. With hands-on activities for all
00:35
ages and abilities, everyone can connect with nature and discover the magical powers of mud
00:40
for wildlife and play. Mudfest is included as part of the general admission costs. Members
00:45
enter for free and there are optional free and paid craft activities in the craft room,
00:50
starting from 60p. Puddle jumping is 50p an entry. To Morecambe Promenade next for Bay Light 24.
00:58
Bay Light is a three-day free light art trail set in beautiful Morecambe Bay, featuring fun
01:03
light artworks from local, national and international artists, with lots of opportunities to get hands-on
01:08
and be part of the event. It runs from the 15th to the 17th of February each day between 6 and 10pm.
01:17
Let's head to Burnley now at the Mechanics Theatre which has a sing-along Matilda the Musical.
01:22
Find the magic inside of you and join the gang at the latest film to get the sing-along treatment,
01:27
the Tony and Olivier Award winning Matilda the Musical based on Roald Dahl's novel. Matilda is
01:32
an extraordinary girl who, armed with a sharp mind and a vivid imagination, dares to take a stand to
01:37
change her story with miraculous results. Fancy dress is strongly encouraged and full audience
01:43
participation essential. It's on the 17th of February and tickets are £18 for adults and £16
01:49
for children. To Southport now and the Atkinson Theatre where you can catch Morgan and West's
01:55
massive magic show for kids. Expect gawks, gasps and guffaws in this relentlessly funny and
02:00
fantastical magical filled extravaganza, guaranteed to delight those aged 5 to 105 and indeed everyone
02:07
in between. Conjuring capers, mysterious magic tricks, larger than life laughs and fantastic
02:13
facial furniture are all crammed into one hour of non-stop fun for all the family. It's on Thursday
02:19
the 15th of February at 2pm and tickets are £11 each. Right I've saved the best till last because
02:27
there's something out of this world happening at the Grand Theatre in Blackpool on Sunday the 18th
02:31
of February. Jurassic Earth Live lands with a stomp and is the original and best live dinosaur show.
02:38
Meet intrepid explorers, fascinating professors and the bravest of rangers as they take you on a
02:43
journey through Jurassic Earth, introducing their herd of the most incredible dinosaur species to
02:48
have ever lived. It's a thrilling interactive 75-minute family show suitable for all ages,
02:54
featuring outstanding animatronics and excitingly realistic performances. There are two shows on the
02:59
Sunday, one at 1pm and one at 4pm and general admission is £24. And incidentally we've made
03:05
a very special film behind the scenes of that show and you can see it now at shotstv.com.
03:10
shotstv.com. There's a bar at the screen there for you. Looks terrific too and don't forget
03:16
Valentine's Day on the 14th otherwise you will be in trouble and join me next week for a more
03:21
normal Five Things to Do but in the meantime enjoy the holidays and I will see you next time. Take care.
