The trial of two teenagers accused of the murder of transgender teenager Brianna Ghey has begun. The 16-year-old was found by members of the public with fatal stab wounds in Culcheth Linear Park, Warrington, on February 11. The two defendants are both aged 16, they were 15 at the time. Due to their age, reporting restrictions are in place for both defendants, entitling them to anonymity.

A woman has been charged with the murder of Gerard Hand at an address in Bootle. The 44-year-old was fatally stabbed on Wednesday morning. Emergency services were called to an address on Church Walk at around 7.45 am. On Saturday, Amanda McDonnell, 43, appeared at Liverpool and Knowsley Magistrates Court.
