00:02 - In Pittsburgh, the decision was finally made

00:05 to move on from Matt Canada.

00:07 Some weather looks like it could be impacting

00:09 the game today, but not what went into that decision.

00:12 And maybe more importantly, what are you expecting

00:15 out of this Steelers offense today?

00:17 - Yeah, and let me explain to you, Kevin,

00:20 how these generally work.

00:21 So over time, the head coach, in this case,

00:24 it's Mike Taubman, he sees what's going on.

00:27 He knows it's not gonna work.

00:29 He doesn't wait till the end of the season

00:31 when things could be moving in another direction.

00:35 In terms of replacing not only the offense coordinator,

00:39 could be replacing other coaches if it doesn't work.

00:42 He's taking the move now to get rid

00:43 of the offense coordinator, Matt Canada,

00:45 and this should have been done obviously weeks ago.

00:47 But they're still in the playoff run very much so

00:49 for a wild card spot.

00:50 They're not out of the divisional race in the AFC North.

00:53 But in terms of being a wild card team,

00:55 this is their chance to do this now.

00:58 To move on from Matt Canada, who quite frankly,

01:00 was an accomplished college offensive coordinator,

01:03 had not done a thing in the pros.

01:05 And I'm told he ran a lot of college concepts

01:07 for the Steelers, it didn't work.

01:09 So many of their players were underachieving,

01:10 particularly in the pass game.

01:12 The quarterback, Kenny Pickett,

01:13 despite what I reported back for the season started,

01:15 had a terrific off season.

01:17 He struggled mightily.

01:19 And it goes to Matt Canada and how he's been coached.

01:21 So the bottom line is, it's Mike Sullivan now.

01:24 Mike Sullivan worked with Eli Manning

01:26 and other veteran quarterbacks over the years.

01:27 Now, as I explained to you last week with Joe Brady,

01:30 you can't change your scheme in season.

01:32 You take the same playbook,

01:34 but you may pick different play set.

01:36 Maybe Pickett's more comfortable with it.

01:37 Maybe he has more input here.

01:39 But the bottom line is, it's going to be the same scheme.

01:41 But as coaches would tell me, Kevin,

01:43 it's a different voice now.
